The next generation of the legendary Volga - the GAZ-31105 model - made its official debut in the summer of 2003 at an international exhibition in Moscow, and since the beginning of 2004 has been published. Compared to its predecessor, the car not only received an improved technical "stuffing", but also noticeably changed externally, especially in the front end, and tried on new equipment.

In 2006, the Daimler Chrysler engine was separated from the sedan and the design was finalized, and in 2008 it underwent a planned restyling, which affected the exterior (mainly in the front) and the interior. The four-door stood on the conveyor until 2010, when it finally “retired”.

It is difficult to find any memorable details in the appearance of the GAZ-31105 "Volga", but in general the car attracts attention with its solid appearance, supported by its huge dimensions. A friendly "face" with drop-shaped headlights and a chrome grille, a solid silhouette with an "endless" trunk and rounded-square wheel arches, an unpretentious stern with neat lanterns and a simple bumper - the three-volume box demonstrates a holistic appearance, and even looks quite good for itself.

In terms of its outer dimensions, the sedan falls into the business class according to the European classification (aka “E” segment): its length, width and height reach 4921 mm, 1812 mm and 1422 mm, respectively. There is a 2800 mm base between the axles of the car, and a 160 mm ground clearance is listed under the bottom. The curb weight of the car ranges from 1400 to 1550 kg, depending on the version.

The interior of the GAZ-31105 "Volga" in terms of design does not reach the "full-fledged business class", but it looks solid and quite attractive - a four-spoke steering wheel, a modern "dashboard" with four dial gauges and a "window" on-board computer, a strict central console with an analog clock, a radio tape recorder and an air conditioning control unit.

The "apartments" of the three-volume are decorated with inexpensive but high-quality materials, which are "ennobled" with wood-like inserts. The interior of the car is designed to carry a driver and four riders. The front seats, despite the almost complete absence of lateral support, are distinguished by comfortable shapes and comprehensive adjustment intervals.

The second row is not only a huge stock free space, but also a comfortable sofa with soft filling and an armrest in the center.

The Volga's cargo compartment boasts a well-thought-out configuration and an impressive volume of 500 liters. True, the lion's share of the "hold" is occupied by a bracket with a full-size spare wheel.

Specifications. Available exclusively for GAZ-31105 gasoline engines- these are in-line "atmospheric" with a volume of 2.4-2.5 liters with a distributed fuel supply, a 16-valve timing structure and an aluminum block of cylinders, producing a maximum of 100-150 Horse power and 182-226 Nm of torque.
All of them are combined with a 5-speed manual transmission and drive wheels on the rear axle.

Depending on the modification, the spurt to the first "hundred" of the car does not go beyond 11.2-14.5 seconds, and the "ceiling" of its capabilities falls on 163-178 km / h.

In the combined mode of movement, the three-volume “destroys” 9.8-11 liters of AI-92 gasoline for every 100 km of run.

GAZ-31105 "Volga" extends on a rear-wheel drive "bogie" and has an all-metal body of the load-bearing configuration and is longitudinally installed in the front part power unit... The front suspension of the car is represented by an independent design on double wishbones with coil springs and a stabilizer. At the rear, it has a dependent system with a rigid axle, longitudinal semi-elliptical springs and a transverse stabilizer.
The sedan is endowed with steering with a mechanism of the type "screw-ball nut on circulating balls" and a hydraulic booster. The front wheels of the four-door are equipped with ventilated disc brakes, and the rear wheels are equipped with simple "drums".

"Volga" model GAZ-31105, in addition to the basic version, is available in several additional versions:

  • GAZ-31105-416- a car prepared for work in taxi services, which has plastic wheel covers, simple glazing, and wear-resistant and washable interior trim.
  • GAZ-311055- an extended version of the sedan, which was produced from 2005 to 2007 to order and was intended to be used as an official "executive" car or a VIP-taxi. Among the features of such a three-volume are increased wheelbase and doors (by 300 mm and 150 mm, respectively), an original interior and high-quality finishing materials.

The car has a lot of advantages: decent comfort, solid dimensions, good driving performance, excellent capacity, excellent maintainability, low cost and availability in content.
At the same time, its disadvantages are considered: low reliability, poor sound insulation, cotton controllability and low quality of components.

Prices. On Russian market of used cars in 2017 Volga GAZ-31105 is offered at a price of 40-50 thousand rubles (for cars "on the go") to 100-150 thousand rubles (for copies in "decent" condition).

The car is cool, handling is easy due to the hydraulic booster, large salon, keeps the darling smoothly and securely. Gives odds to any foreign car. Does not knock, does not rattle. In winter, the cabin is warm, the stove works fine. Fuel consumption 9 liters on the highway, 10 in the city. The cabin is spacious, good for large-bodied people or large family... Great domestic car. Holds the track well, is stable, controlled by two fingers. Put the steering wheel and you can sleep from turn to turn. Outside the city, consumption at a speed of 110-120 km / h was about 10 liters per 100 km. On long journeys I covered 1400 km in one direction in 19 hours and did not get tired. GAZ 31105 Volga - the second car, the first was 3110. I'm not going to change it yet, but, if I will, only to the Volga. Satisfied with everything. The only jamb, in my opinion, is that the left wiper does not completely clear the glass in wet weather, it is very annoying, since I drive fast enough. I'm happy with the car, it's a pity that our geniuses have removed the sweetheart from production and want to plant it in the Vazovsky garbage dumps.

Hello Volgovody! In 2008, at a car dealership I bought myself a Volga 31105 from scratch. The first year I left, I practically did not look into it, except for 0.5 liters of oil. The second year I changed the rear springs, put 6 sheets of front shock absorbers, put gas-oil ones. And that's all. And I left for another year, did not look into the car. The most important thing is that I dreamed of such a car for 5-6 years, but there was no opportunity to buy it, but then I was lucky (I sold my house) and bought a GAZ 31105 Volga car for myself ...

The GAZ 31105 model is a car middle class in a 4-door sedan, which was first presented to the Russian car company GAZ (Gorkovsky Automotive Factory) in 2004. The GAZ 31105 car is an upgraded version of the GAZ 3110 model, which was produced until 2004. The car has received an updated appearance. Exterior changes include new rounded headlights (instead of the previous rectangular shape), as well as new front fenders, a hood, front bumper and a radiator grill.

Initially, for the GAZ 31105 model, three engine options were proposed: gasoline carburetor engine ZMZ-4021 with a volume of 2.5 liters; petrol injection engine ZMZ-4062.10 with a volume of 2.3 liters; and a turbo diesel power unit GAZ-560 with a volume of 2.4 liters. And since 2006, cars have been equipped with a 2.4-liter Chrysler DOHC engine from the American company Daimler Chrysler. The power of such a power unit is 137 horsepower. As for the transmission, an improved 5-speed mechanical box gears with a fundamentally new design of the double-cone synchronizer and new rigid gear shifting forks that provide silent contact with the shifting clutch. Through the use of high quality ball bearings and tapered roller bearings the durability and load-carrying capacity of the gearbox have been significantly improved. Such equipment made it possible to increase maximum speed sedan up to 175 km / h and at the same time acceleration to 100 km / h takes no more than 11 seconds.

The independent front suspension of the GAZ 31105 car is now pivotless (ball joints, which, unlike a complex pivot structure, do not require "injecting" the suspension) on wishbones with coil springs, telescopic shock absorbers and a stabilizer lateral stability... The rear, in turn, dependent leaf spring with shock absorbers also began to be equipped with an anti-roll bar, which made it possible to reduce the lateral roll of the body when cornering, as well as the excessive longitudinal flexibility of the springs and dynamic longitudinal vibrations of the rear axle during acceleration, braking and moving the car over road irregularities. Brake system The car includes ventilated disc brakes front and drum rear.

The GAZ 31105 interior has become even more comfortable than that of the GAZ 3110 model. Due to the new lowered profile of the front seat cushions, the usable space in the openings of the front doors has been increased. The front seats themselves are very comfortable with pronounced lateral support, which does not allow the driver to fatigue while driving. Since June 2007, GAZ 31105 has been equipped with a new interior, which was developed with the participation of German design studios. Interior improvements include: an adjustable steering column; new dashboard with integrated power cage; power window control panel; "Joystick" for adjusting the exterior mirrors.

It is worth noting that since 2006, the "VIP" version of the GAZ 31105 model has been produced in small volumes under the GAZ 311055 marking with a wheelbase extended by 300 mm and doors extended by 150 mm.

In addition, new external door handles were installed on the car, as well as locks manufactured by the Vgaro company, as a result of which it was possible to achieve an almost silent closing of the interior doors. Also, this sedan became the only one domestic car of that time, equipped with plastic wheel arch liners.

GAZ designers have replaced the "five" front fenders, a radiator grill, a front bumper and a hood. In addition, in 2005-2007, small-scale production of a separate modification of this sedan - GAZ-311055, which was lengthened by 300 millimeters wheel base, as well as doors extended by 150 millimeters.

In the summer of 2006, the famous American DOHC 2.4L engine manufactured by Daimler Chrysler, which had a capacity of 137 "horses", began to be installed on the GAZ-31105. Thanks to this power unit, the car was able to reach a speed of 178 km / h.

In 2007, the GAZ management decided to develop new interior salon with the participation of German designers. As a result, specialists from the German design bureau "EDAG" and "Hеrmann Rawema" were involved in this work, who repeatedly developed designs for such auto monsters as Audi, Porsche, Mercedes and Volkswagen.

The rear axle on GAZ 31105 turned out to be " weak link"- the main steam, due to the low quality of its manufacture, buzzed often. It is worth noting that the gear ratio on a pair of 3110 and 31105 with motors 402 and 406 is exactly the same. And the bridges of the cars differed only in that on the GAZ 31105 model, brackets for the rear stabilizer were welded to the "stocking" of the bridge, while the GAZ 3110 did not have these "ears". Car owners did not have the opportunity to install brackets on their own - it is difficult to weld anything to cast iron, special welding equipment is needed here. Therefore, if someone installed on the 105th axles from 3110, they lost the rear stabilizer.

In other details, the bridges were no different.

Starting in 2006, high-speed main pairs with a different gear ratio began to be installed on some bridges. If for the 406th engine there was a pair of 43/11 (gear ratio 3.9), then for Chrysler it was already used rear gear with a pair of 43/12 (number 3.58). According to the manufacturer's assurances, the new 43/12 main pair undergoes better processing, and the rear axle with such a transmission should have an increased resource.

Chrysler appeared on the Volga in the summer of 2006. Such a motor was used in American cars "Chrysler Serbing", "Chrysler Cyrus", "Dodge Stratus" and many other models in different years of production. With this internal combustion engine on the Volga, it was necessary to make changes to the design - on modification 31105-501, the front beam under the engine became 17 mm lower.


Accordingly, the vehicle's ground clearance has decreased.
