Eco-dozen: the most economical cars with automatic transmission. The most economical cars in terms of gasoline consumption Cars with minimal fuel consumption automatic transmission

home / Protection\Theft

There is no driver who does not monitor the fuel consumption of his car. At least just to get to the gas station on time. At the same time, for most drivers, economical cars have always been of considerable interest. The ratings of such cars, compiled by various media outlets themselves, are usually studied quite carefully and scrupulously.

Cars with low fuel consumption - economical or not?

In fact, this is a provocative question. The expected answer is yes, but it will not always be correct. Thus, cars with diesel engines are rated as more economical than gasoline ones, but it would be wrong to judge this based on fuel consumption alone. In addition to the fact that in our conditions, diesel fuel is sometimes more expensive than gasoline, and this alone will be an additional expense for the maintenance of diesel cars, it is worth considering that they require more frequent maintenance.

Changes of oil and filters are carried out more often, and consumables are sometimes more expensive than required for a gasoline engine, and the maintenance itself will eat up all the imaginary savings from using diesel fuel. In addition, do not forget about its quality. We must admit that the fuel at our gas stations often does not meet any requirements and if you use it, you may well have to spend a lot of money on repairing the engine of your car.

Therefore, when trying to determine which car is more economical, it is worth taking into account not only fuel consumption data, but also maintenance costs, as well as the cost of possible repairs due to the use of cheap and low-quality fuel.

Cars with low fuel consumption - what are they?

However, all of the above does not mean that car manufacturers are not working to reduce fuel consumption. Cars with low fuel consumption have always opened the ranking of economical cars, the authors of which are numerous organizations, from reputable to little-known ones. If you look closely at any rating, you will notice some rather interesting facts.

  1. The ranking of cars with low fuel consumption is usually topped by hybrid cars. There is nothing surprising in this; they were conceived as vehicles with low fuel consumption. But the number of such cars is significantly smaller than the number of cars with conventional internal combustion engines, and they are not particularly popular, especially in our country;
  2. In cases where a non-hybrid car is included in the rating, its characteristic features will be relatively low power and volume of the internal combustion engine. The consequence of this is the small size that cars of this type have. So, when paying attention to economical cars, be prepared for the fact that they are far from luxury cars. Large, heavy, powerful and dynamic machines are not characterized by low consumption and efficiency;
  3. To reduce fuel consumption, manufacturers often use a variety of additional systems, the result of which is increased efficiency. An example of such a technical solution is the start-stop system used on many vehicles. Its essence lies in the fact that in the absence of movement (when stopping at a traffic light or in a traffic jam), the engine is turned off by the electronics and turned on by the electronics when the position of the pedals (clutch and gas) changes.

This approach allows you to reduce fuel consumption by up to ten percent from normal, but the downside of this will be an increase in the price of the vehicle, and cars whose rating will be at the bottom of the list will be cheaper.

Economical cars in terms of fuel consumption

When thinking about buying a car with low fuel consumption, in addition to data on the gasoline consumption of the new car, it is worth thinking about its operation. If your car consumes more fuel than it should according to its technical specifications, then it may not only be a matter of the value of gasoline consumption. Economical fuel consumption in many cases is associated not only with the machine itself, but also with how it is operated.

The simplest example is when a traffic light turns green, cars accelerate sharply and rush along the avenue, only to end up in front of a prohibitory signal two hundred meters later. With this driving style, gasoline consumption will never be low. During acceleration, the engine consumes more fuel than is necessary during quiet movement, and in addition, it does not burn completely. In addition, all the expense was in vain, because... I had to stand at the traffic light again.
The movement should be fast, but smooth, with a transition to higher gears in a minimum amount of time; gasoline consumption figures will be lower in them, and efficiency will increase.

Another factor, despite its insignificance, providing fuel economy, will be aerodynamic resistance to movement and the use of additional devices. The most ordinary windows, lowered while driving, increase the aerodynamic drag of the car, which will result in additional gas consumption. Turning on the air conditioning results in increased electrical consumption on board, additional load on the generator and increased fuel consumption.

Don't think that everyone should drive with the windows closed and sweat in the heat. You just have to be aware that if you turn on the air conditioning, loud music or open the windows, this will lead to more significant gas consumption.

There are many other ways and techniques to ensure economical operation of your car. There are enough of them so that your steel horse does not become too burdensome for you.

The question of which cars are economical and which are not is quite complex for an unambiguous answer. And the first lines in world rankings sometimes cannot serve as an unambiguous criterion for such an assessment. Proper operation of even an ordinary, albeit old, car can be much more profitable than inept use of the most “hit” car.

These days it is the main selection criterion for a potential buyer. Nobody wants to spend 1.2 million. rubles or more when buying a car, and ultimately get a not very big advantage in fuel economy compared to cheaper cars. When buying an economical car, the buyer wants to get significant savings on gasoline or diesel fuel, which over time will at least partially recoup the overpayment for an economical car.

We have compiled for you a rating consisting of 10 cars that are the most economical and at their cost make sense to buy, since by overpaying for the economy of the car over time, it is possible to recoup the money invested due to less spending at the gas station.

Despite the fact that in recent years there has been mainly the emergence of new modern technologies that are used in internal combustion engines, which has made it possible to significantly reduce average fuel consumption, there is not a single car in our selection with a conventional gasoline or diesel engine. All cars presented in the rating.

The reason is that technology does not yet allow modern traditional engines to compete in fuel consumption with vehicles running on hybrid power units.

Please note that our selection includes full-size cars. We deliberately do not include small cars with low fuel consumption in the rating, since such cars are small in capacity (usually two-door) and low-power, which are not in great demand throughout the world and are not very relevant in our country.

The cars presented in the TOP 10 are quite powerful, but nevertheless are economical in fuel consumption.

1) 2013 Lexus CT200h - 1.32-1.7 million rubles

Our list starts with the luxurious Lexus CT200h. This car is one of the few hybrid cars sold in Russia (there are many more cars with hybrid engines in the USA and Europe), prices for which start from 1,318,000 rubles. This small car in combined mode (simultaneous operation of a conventional engine and an electric one) consumes only 5.6 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers.

Such low fuel consumption is made possible thanks to the use of Toyota Hybrid Synergy technologies, which are used on many hybrid and all-electric Japanese cars.

The hybrid powertrain consists of a 1.8-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine and an electric powertrain. Total power is 134 hp. Weight - 1445-1485 kg. (The total curb weight of the vehicle is 1790 kg.)

The Lexus CT200h five-door hatchback is considered sportier and more enjoyable to drive than the Toyota Prius on which it is based.

2) 2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid (Mondeo) - $27,995 (US price)

Price in Russia: 1.30-1.65 million. rubles including customs duties and delivery from the USA.

Ford is spending a lot of effort on developing hybrid technology. Fusion model, which is better known in Russia as Ford Mondeo despite the fact that it is not officially represented in the Russian Federation, it occupies second place in our rating. Despite its low cost in the States, it is not possible to buy this car for little money in Russia. In order to purchase this car, you need to go to America to buy it or order a car through companies specializing in the resale of cars from the USA.

But the price of the car will increase due to customs duties and delivery to Russia. So the customs duty will be approximately 469 thousand. rubles

Despite the high price tag, the car and the difficulty of purchasing it in the Russian Federation, this car was included in our rating because of its efficiency. Fuel consumption in combined mode is only 5 liters per 100 km. The hybrid installation is a 2-liter gasoline engine combined with an electric 7.6 kW installation. Operation in combined mode produces 188 hp. power, thanks to the use of an electronic automatic continuously variable transmission ECVT.

Ford recognized the success of the project to equip the Ford Fusion Hybrid (Mondeo) with hybrid engines. Thanks to its success, the American company decided to use this hybrid system on Ford C-MAX vehicles.

3) 2013 Toyota Prius V - 1.25-1.59 million. rubles

Despite the fact that the Toyota Prius is a very popular hybrid car all over the world, in our country this car is not in very great demand due to its high cost compared to other countries. Not to mention the Prius V version. But we decided to include it in the rating, since without this car the selection of the most economical cars in the world would not be complete.

The direct competitor to the Prius is the Ford S-Max. The Prius 5 has larger dimensions than the regular Prius, which is specifically designed to accommodate more people and luggage (the trunk is a problem for all hybrid cars, as it is the only convenient place to install the battery that powers the electric motor).

Fuel consumption in combined mode is 5.6 liters per 100 kilometers.

Using Toyota's signature Synergy Drive hybrid technology, the car produces 134 hp, which is low for a car of its size. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 10.6 seconds.

4) 2013 Toyota Camry Hybrid - $26,935 (US price)

Price in Russia: 1.18-1.53 million. rubles including customs duties and delivery from the USA.

More affordable, in contrast to the 2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid (Mondeo), is the 2013 Toyota Camry Hybrid, which, unfortunately, is also not officially presented in the Russian Federation. Currently, hybrid technology from Toyota in the form of the Toyota Camry Hybrid is available to all those who cannot stand the style and design of the Toyota Prius.

Fuel consumption when the 2.5 liter gasoline engine and electric motor work together is 5.7 l/100 km. In addition to its body shape and style, the Camry differs from the Prius in its good power (200 hp), thanks to which this full-size mid-size sedan accelerates to 100 km/h in just 7.6 seconds, which is not bad for a hybrid four-door car.

5) 2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid - $25,995 (US price)

Price in Russia: 1.18-1.51 million. rubles including customs duties and delivery from the USA or Europe.

The Ford C-Max is the ideal hybrid vehicle for those who like the 2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid USA (Mondeo) but need more space for passengers and luggage. This car, like most hybrid cars, is not officially sold in our country. So, fans of this brand will have to buy this car in the USA or in Europe, spending money on customs and delivery to Russia.

However, despite the difficulties of buying, the C-Max is cheaper than the hybrid Mondeo. Note that the C-Max and Ford Fusion share the same engine and transmission. These models also have the same fuel consumption, which is only 5L/100km, but the C-Max has larger body dimensions, which has an advantage over the Fusion Hybrid USA. Power 188 hp (with the joint operation of an electric engine and a 2-liter gasoline engine).

When testing the hybrid C-Max, it is worth noting that it is much more pleasant to drive than the Prius V.

6) 2014 VW Jetta Hybrid - $25,790 (US price)

Price in Russia: 1.15-1.49 million. rubles including customs duties and delivery from the USA.

With a petrol 4-cylinder 1.4 liter turbo engine and an electric motor, the Volkswagen is much more powerful than the Prius. The power of the hybrid Jetta is 170 hp. The latest models of this hybrid car are equipped with DSG automatic transmissions with dual clutch.

With such power, the VW Jetta consumes only 5.23 liters per 100 kilometers, which is an excellent result considering the considerable power. The price at which it can be purchased in the North American continent is very attractive.

7) 2013 Honda Civic Hybrid - $25,150 (US price)

Price in Russia: 1.14-1.47 million. rubles including customs duties and delivery to Russia.

In Russia, used hybrid Honda Civic VII 2009-2010 are offered for sale at prices ranging from 450 thousand to 550 thousand. rubles (data from Auto.ru)

Unlike other hybrid cars presented in this rating of inexpensive and most economical cars, the Honda Civic is a hybrid that can only operate in a combined mode of operation of an electric motor and a gasoline engine. So, it won’t be possible to drive this car on electric power alone.

Despite this, the fuel consumption of the Honda Civic Hybrid is only 5.35 l/100 kilometers, which is not bad for a 1.5 liter engine paired with an electric power unit.

The only negative is that the power is not very high, amounting to only 93 hp. (for the Japanese market 91 hp). Given the low price and low fuel consumption, the premium for a hybrid car can be recouped in just a few years.

8)2013 Toyota Prius - $24,995 (US price)

In Russia the cost is 1.19-1.53 million. rubles The price of used cars is on average below 1 million. rub.

Toyota Prius, compared to approximately the same class of cars running on traditional engines, costs about the same, which is one of the most important factors in favor of buying this hybrid. Plus very low fuel consumption - 4.7 liters per 100 km. Although the regular Prius is smaller in size than the Prius V, it produces 134 hp. still not enough.

Just like the Prius 5, the standard Toyota Prius uses the same 1.8-liter gasoline engine, paired with an electric motor and a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). Despite the not very stylish design of the car and some shortcomings, the price and fuel consumption of the Toyota Prius are the main advantages for deciding whether to purchase a hybrid car.

Thanks to its efficiency and affordable price, the cost of purchasing a car will partially be recouped during operation by saving money on gasoline.

9) 2014 Toyota Prius C - $19,875 (US price)

Price in Russia: 1.09-1.30 million. rubles including delivery from the USA and customs duties.

The new Toyota Prius C model is a whopping nearly $5,000 cheaper than the regular Prius model. The size of the new Toyota Prius C model is exactly two times smaller than the regular Prius model. This model is Toyota's first hybrid vehicle in the US, priced under $20,000. Despite its small size, it was not possible to reduce fuel consumption on this model.

The car consumes the same amount of fuel as a 2013 Toyota Prius (4.7 l/100 km). Also, you should not expect agility due to the weight of this car. The car is paired with an electric motor with a 1.5 liter low-power engine from Toyota Yaris (almost 100 hp).

But despite the boring technical indicators, the main thing about the car is its low price (in the USA), which is very attractive, which will naturally attract a large number of buyers.

10) 2013 Honda Insight Hybrid - $19,390 (US price)

Price in Russia: 1.00-1.25 million. rubles, taking into account delivery from the USA and customs duties to the Russian Federation.

This car completes our top ten most economical and inexpensive cars. It is the most affordable to purchase. Like all full-size cars in our rating, the 2013 Honda Insight is a hybrid. The hybrid installation consists of an electric power unit and a 1.3-liter gasoline engine with a capacity of 98 hp.

Like the 2013 Honda Civic Hybrid, the Insight can't run on electric power alone, but it still gets good fuel economy at 5.6 liters per 100 kilometers. In terms of style, design and other parameters, the car is inferior to all the cars presented in the rating.

But it has no competitors in terms of price. Taking into account the specifics of our product, the low price allows you to quickly recoup the costs of purchasing this hybrid car, thanks to saving money at the gas station.

In modern economic conditions, you have to save on almost everything. And as you know, one of the most significant items in the expense column is a car. Some household tricks like correct tire pressure or improved aerodynamics can help save an extra half a liter. But still this is not serious. To truly save money, it is important to choose the right car from the beginning.

In 2017, choosing the most fuel-efficient car has become much easier than it was ten or twenty years ago. As before, the leading positions in the ranking of “the most economical and inexpensive car” are occupied by small cars. However, now on this list you can find crossovers and even sports cars (for example, Porsche Panamera).

In this regard, when choosing an economical car, you can now focus not only on gasoline consumption , but also according to other parameters, such as respectability, power and others. This is especially true when choosing a car in Russia . Although our people want to choose the most economical car, they are not ready to drive only an ugly car. Therefore, we will try to consider all the options for a modern economical car.

Urban runabouts

Small engine volumes and small dimensions are the foundation on which economical city cars have traditionally rested. Moreover, in this case, the weak engine and dimensions are not a disadvantage.

With small dimensions, the car is much easier to drive. In addition, it is easier to move around in urban areas and easier to find a parking space. And such a car will be cheaper in price. Let's try to figure out which car is better in terms of fuel consumption in Russia.

One of the first cars in terms of efficiency is the Citroen C1. Its consumption in city traffic is five and a half liters. Despite the fact that this is a French brand, these machines are assembled in the Czech Republic.

A full Citroen C1 tank holds 78 liters of fuel. The manufacturers themselves recommend operating the car on A95 gasoline. This machine can comfortably accommodate four adults at the same time.

The cost of a five-year-old used Citroen C1 fluctuates around 250-300 thousand rubles. A new car from the showroom will cost about 600 thousand.

Having filled the tank full once, you can travel 764 km without any problems. The car is designed for four people. Trunk volume is 883 liters. This model refutes the myth about weak small cars. Honda Jazz accelerates to one hundred kilometers in just 11.4 seconds. The cost of this used car fluctuates around 300-400 thousand rubles.

The Aveo is slightly larger in size than previous models. And fuel consumption is slightly higher and amounts to 6.6 liters per hundred kilometers. This car is designed for five people.

Trunk volume is 501 liters. The car is more suitable for young people. The only disadvantage we can note is poor sound insulation. The minimum price for a new car is 507 thousand. On the secondary market, the price of 2006 will be about 200 rubles.

This car is in first place among urban small cars. With an engine power of one liter, the average consumption is 4.3 liters, and the minimum is only 3.9.

Compact, well-thought-out design makes this car stand out among many others in city traffic. One tank is enough for 740 km. Acceleration from zero to one hundred in 14.7 seconds. Toyota IQ is not only one of the most economical cars, but also ranks first in terms of the lowest carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere. The price starts at 350 thousand rubles for used ones.

Urban crossovers

Choosing a car is a serious matter; you want to choose an economical car and not lower the bar too much. However, today it is quite possible to buy yourself a comfortable off-road car with high ground clearance without going broke on fuel purchases.

Already familiar to many on the Russian market, the KIA Soul consumes only 7.2 liters per hundred kilometers. The car has a new suspension and a 1.6 MPI petrol unit. Despite the fact that there is 124 hp under the hood, this does not greatly affect fuel consumption.

Cost-effectiveness was achieved due to a single-drive gearbox. The car's ground clearance is 158 cm. This is quite enough for driving on light off-road conditions or over speed bumps. The price of this car starts from 800 thousand.

Japanese manufacturers were able to combine in this car a 1.2-liter engine and 112 horses with a fuel consumption of 6.2 liters.

With a ground clearance of 200 mm, this is one of the most popular cars in this class. The car attracts not only with its appearance, but also with a fairly affordable price. The cost of this car starts from 800 thousand.

Hybrid cars (briefly summarize the features of this section)

Hybrids occupy a separate niche among economical cars. In this case, additional savings can be achieved through the introduction of the latest technologies into production. Recently, there has been a serious surge in demand for such cars. Due to this, there has been a slight rise in prices.

This is one of the main representatives of hybrid cars. Fuel consumption is from 5.5 - 8.0 liters per 100 km. In the standard version, the electric battery is charged by the engine and when braking.

However, in the new assembly it became possible to charge from the network and drive only on electric power. Trunk volume is 443 liters. The most important thing is that the car is completely silent while driving. The cost of a used car starts from 400 thousand.

Unlike most modern cars, the BMW i3 was developed from the ground up. None of the existing cars were taken as a basis. Like the Toyota Prius, some versions of the BMW i3 can be charged from the mains.

As for fuel, this car only needs half a liter per hundred kilometers. A full tank lasts for 322 kilometers. What is surprising about this machine is that, despite all its efficiency, the power is 170 horses and it weighs 1639 kg. BMW i3 costs from two million.

Diesel cars:

Audi A3 1.6 TDI

The gas tank of this car is designed for 50 liters. Its consumption is 5.2 liters per hundred kilometers.

Acceleration to hundreds occurs in just 8.3 seconds. Production of this car started in 2012. Since then, thousands of cars have been sold. The cost of this car is from 1.5 million.

One of the best economical family cars. Its appeal lies in increased safety and reduced fuel consumption.

This machine is produced in Belgium. One tank is enough for 1390 kilometers. With a power of 120 horses, the car consumes 3.9 liters in the city. In a more powerful configuration with 190 hp. With. 6.4 liters are spent. Price from 1.5 million.

(3 ratings, average: 4,33 out of 5)

We have previously published an article about. Now the time has come to find out which models of Russian cars are the most economical for motorists?

It is difficult to make a rating of cars of a domestic automaker based on their image and likeness. Vehicles with a long road history, as well as new products from the automotive industry, “run” along Russian roads. And yet, it’s interesting which of them require less hydrocarbons to move?

How much fuel does Oka consume (VAZ-1111)

What does the most economical domestic car look like? "Oka" comes to mind. To cover 100 km, a small compact car consumes 4.0 liters in the combined cycle, 6.0 liters in the city.

Produced until 2008. The 0.65 liter two-cylinder engine produces a performance of 29 hp. With. The car accelerates to 100 km/h in 0.5 minutes. The modernized Oka (VAZ-11113), with its volume increased to 0.75 liters, produces 35 liters. With. The acceleration rate is reduced to 24 seconds.

An increase in cylinder volume increased fuel consumption (gasoline) to 4.3 liters in city + highway mode and 7 liters in a populated area. Both versions are provided with a carburetor power supply.

The third version was produced under the abbreviation SeAZ-11116. Three-cylinder 1.0 liter engine with a productive capacity of 53 hp. s., a five-speed manual transmission and an injection system transformed the progenitor into a different car.

AvtoVAZ has not abandoned its plans to revive by 2020 the compact, maneuverable, and much-needed minicar modernized Oka.

Lada Granta (VAZ-2190)

Gasoline consumption in the mixed traffic cycle is 6.7 liters on a 16-valve power plant of 1.6 liters with a working load of 106 liters. With. Starts up to hundreds of kilometers in 11 seconds.

The types of engines installed on the Grant are: 8-valve 4-cylinder 1.6 liter with a capacity of 80.9 and 90 liters. With.; 16-valve 98-horsepower 1.6 liter. The machine is partially galvanized. Factory warranty against corrosion is six years.

Acting as a representative of the domestic automobile industry, there are a lot of foreign components in the components and parts of the car, which only improves the characteristics. Some versions have a spacious luggage compartment, reaching up to 520 liters (Liftback sedan).

Cooperation with the foreign automobile industry resulted in the installation of an updated type of transmission - a four-speed Japanese automatic transmission from Jatco.

In the “Sport” version, the car with the same engine cylinder capacity is capable of producing 120 hp due to changes in the gas distribution system. With.

The modernized mechanical transmission is a five-speed manual transmission, similar to the Kalina gearbox. Starting this year, the automaker is threatening to equip the manual transmission with the usual gear shift geometry, similar to the classic Zhiguli.

How much fuel does Lada Priora consume?

Per 100 km of combined travel - 6.9 liters thanks to a 1.6 liter power mechanism with a capacity of 106 liters. With.

The quality of engine operation lies in updating the fuel supply system and the use of dynamic supercharging. With such a “heart” the car reaches 100 km/h in 11.5 seconds.

The updated car was released in 2013. The interior design has changed. A dashboard that is comfortable for visualization has appeared. Airbags are structurally different. The shape is now oval and extended upward. This protects both the head and body.

"Priora" is equipped with different variants of power mechanisms. Previous models were equipped with a 1.6 liter engine with a power of up to 87 hp. s., providing acceleration to 100 km/h in 12.5 seconds.

During the period of development of the performance of the power plant, the 1.6 liter four-cylinder petrol engine was equipped with a different timing belt and an updated fuel injection device, thereby increasing the workload to 98 liters. With. The starting acceleration speed decreased to 11.5 seconds. Innovations also led to a reduction in gasoline consumption to 7.2 liters.

Lada Kalina

"Lada Kalina" in terms of appetite is characterized by 9 liters in the city, 5.8 liters in the countryside, 7 liters in the combined cycle. The four-cylinder 87-horsepower 1.6-liter engine accelerates the car to 100 km/h in 12 seconds.

Body options: station wagon, sedan, hatchback. A version is offered with a 1.4 liter engine producing 89 hp. s., which does not affect fuel consumption, the same 7 liters of the combined cycle.

A maneuverable car suitable for urban conditions with a ground clearance of 16 cm. Freedom of entry is ensured by the door opening angle (90 degrees). Kalina is equipped with a driver's seat airbag as standard. Top models such as “Norma” and “Lux” are equipped with two airbags, an air conditioning system, emergency braking (ABS), and heated driver and passenger seats.

Lada Vesta

“Lada Vesta”, a new product from a domestic manufacturer, claims consumption of 8.5 l (city), 7.2 l (mixed), 5.7 l (highway) for the model with the VAZ-11189 engine. The power plant equipment comes down to: two domestic, one imported. The working volume is equal to 1.6 liters with heterogeneous performance.

The VAZ-11189 mechanism produces 87 hp. s., VAZ-21129 - 106 l. s., and the “foreigner” (Renault-Nissan HR16DE/H4M) produces 114 hp. With.

The body styles offered are sedan and hatchback. In a sedan body, acceleration speed is 10.3 seconds to 100 km/h. Fuel economy is reflected in the aerodynamic configuration of the body, providing an operating resistance of 0.82 m².

The automaker is not limited to the given line of power mechanisms, but is seriously considering the option of equipping Vesta with a 1.8-liter engine.

The difference from other domestic counterparts is the car's low fuel consumption. Design diversity involves the use of compressed natural gas. Representatives of the plant claim that when fully refueled, Vesta will cover 1000 km without refueling. When gas consumption is complete, the system will automatically switch the engine power to gasoline mode. According to the calculations of the manufacturer, fuel costs in monetary terms will be reduced threefold.

The basic equipment of the car is equipped with a 4-cylinder 1.6 liter injection petrol unit with a capacity of 80 hp. s., covers 100 km of travel at a consumption of 7.2 liters. The Lada 110 accelerates to 100 km/h in 13.5 seconds.

The next two versions, having a 1.6 liter power mechanism with a capacity of 89 liters. sec., reduce the acceleration speed to 12 seconds.

The car is equipped with an electronic engine control mechanism, a diagnostic unit (on-board computer), galvanized metal is used in individual body parts, and modern body painting technology is used.

Production of the model in Russia ceased in 2007, which did not prevent car factories in Ukraine and Egypt from continuing assembly.

The plant provided the car with an improved design, excellent aerodynamics, a spacious luggage compartment (480 liters), with potential transformation for transporting long cargo. The function is provided by a hatch in the rear seat and a trunk lid that extends to the bumper. Plus - affordable level of maintainability.

The softness and smoothness of the ride, the stability of the car on the road turns into inertia of the steering. The soft suspension and small 13-inch wheels contribute to the road surface with weak protection for the power unit sump. The ideal balance between a comfortable ride and impeccable handling is clearly absent on this domestic vehicle.

We also invite you to watch a video on fuel consumption in a Lada Granta car (summer mode):

Nowadays, the most economical cars are those that run on a hybrid or electric engine. But in our article, we decided to make a rating of the most economical cars in terms of fuel consumption in 2018-2019, excluding hybrids, only diesel and gasoline engines. Economical fuel consumption should be one of the most important criteria when choosing a car, since fuel prices are constantly rising, and most of the money will go down the drain if your car is not economical.

Top 10 economical diesel cars in 2019

Let's start our rating with a list of the most economical diesel cars of 2018-2019; this list includes 10 models that you will 100% like. Whatever one may say, diesel engines are still considered one of the most economical. Therefore, when purchasing a car, you should always choose diesel modifications, especially if you drive a lot.

10th place Renault Sandero

Our current rating of economical diesel engines opens with the French hatchback Renault Sandero. True, this car is produced in Romania, and in Europe it is produced under the Dacia brand, but this in no way allows it not to be among the best economical cars on our list. To compare the characteristics, we will consider only diesel engine modifications. It is diesel engines that are considered the most economical in terms of fuel consumption, unless, of course, we exclude electric vehicles and hybrids, which we did not take into account in this rating.

Engine characteristics

  • 1.5 MT 5-speed Manual transmission/90hp fuel consumption 3.9l/100km

9th place Mercedes A-Class

The German automaker Mercedes can be proud of its models not only in terms of comfort and speed characteristics, but also in terms of economy. Mercedes A-Class is rightfully considered one of the best economical cars, since for 1,900,000 rubles, the future car owner purchases a car that will burn only 3.8 liters of diesel fuel per 100 kilometers.

Engine characteristics
