Even if the instructor is unhappy now, and so you want to cry when the car stalls or jumps, instead of smoothly moving off and going up. You will subconsciously know how to step on the gas pedal, when to change gear and when to put your foot from the brake to the gas. All this will surely come and stay with you forever.

We get under way on the rise (uphill) without rolling back

You are uphill, the engine is running, the handbrake is locked, and the gear lever is in neutral.

  • We squeeze out the clutch, put in first gear.
  • Slightly press the gas pedal. At the same time, we bring the engine speed to 2500 rpm. We fix the gas pedal in this position. If you still do not have the ability to listen to the engine and determine the required degree of holding the gas pedal by sound, then we are guided by the number of revolutions (the device, by the way, is called a tachometer).
  • Now release the gas pedal very slowly. This should be done smoothly and slowly. Release the clutch very smoothly as well. If you drop the clutch abruptly, the engine will stall. We release the clutch until the moment when the number of revolutions on the tachometer shows about 1500 rpm. Now the most important point is to release the handbrake. If everything is done correctly, then you will get under way without any problems. And remember - everything is done smoothly. Sudden movements will cause the engine to stall.


We move up the hill without a parking brake

Casual, common and, in my opinion, most acceptable.

  • Starting position: the gear lever is in neutral, the right foot is on the brake pedal, the handbrake is not fixed (we don’t remember about it at all now, it’s not there and that’s all). First we squeeze out the clutch and engage the first gear. We made sure that nothing will interfere with the movement, we proceed further. Smoothly (Smoothly!) Release the clutch pedal until you feel the sound of the load on the engine (while the brake is pressed). By the sound of the engine and by the slightly dropped RPM on the tachometer, you can determine whether the clutch has disengaged.
  • The main thing with this method is to work out the smooth movement of the clutch pedal.... If you suddenly "drop" the clutch - the engine stalls. This sad thing is familiar to every novice car driver, let alone a car lady. All my lady friends considered the clutch pedal, during the training phase, enemy number 1.
  • Now release the brake (with the clutch pedal in the same position). Quickly, but smoothly, we throw our right, free foot on the gas, press the gas pedal and, lo and behold! - we start elegantly.

Everything, the ability to feel the car came and the ability to get under way on the rise too. You can be proud of yourself, now you will enjoy driving and feel like a happy and omnipotent auto lady.
