Silentblock is a rubberometallic hinge, constructively consisting of a rubber sleeve pressed between two steel sleeves. They are installed in the moving places of automotive suspension and protect the latter from shocks and vibrations. In addition, rubberometallic hinges to some extent neutralize the noise occurring during the operation of the car.

A bit of theory

The silent block is one of the responsible parts of the VAZ-2106 car suspension, with which the elements of the attachment of such nodes are associated with each other.

Despite the seeming simplicity of the design, the rubberometallic hinge in the VAZ-2106:

• provides mobility of pendant parts relative to each other;

Substitution of silent blocks

The process of replacing the silent blocks of the VAZ-2106 suspension can be divided into two stages:

1. Replacing front suspension hinges (upper and lower levers).
2. Replacing the silent blocks of rear suspension rod.

Replacement of the silent blocks of the upper levers

The replacement of silent blocks of one of the VAZ-2106's upper levers is carried out in the following order (not forgetting about safety technician):

1. Release the fastening bolts of the desired wheel and subdomgize the car.
2. Remove the wheel.
3. Using two keys on 13, unscrew the fastening nuts of the ball support.
4. Using two keys on 22, remove the lever nut, take out the axis and dismantle the top lever.

1. The lever is fixed in the vice and, tightening the puller bolt, squeeze the hinge from its landing place.
2. Just squeeze the second hinge.
3. Using the same puller, press new parts and install the top lever in place. For this, they repeat the acting actions in the reverse order.
4. In the same way change the worn items and on the second lever.

Substitution of silent blocks of lower levers

Change rubberometallic hinges on the lower levers in the same way. Only in this case are not removed from the car.

Procedure:

1. Remove the desired wheel.
2. Disposable with a key on 22 on both sides of the axis nut lever and remove stubborn washers.
3. Watch the hollow bolt of the puller on the axis. Then you need to delay the nut, holding the bolt from turning. A glass of puller will put pressure on the bottom lever, gradually shifting it from the hinge.

1. Insert a new hinge into place and center it in the hole, pressing the lever by the mounting blade. Then, by setting from the inside of the last stop puller, pressed.
2. Similar operations are carried out with the other silent blocks, after which they return all removed parts into place.

Important! Finally, tighten the hinges only after the car will be put on the wheels. Experienced drivers recommend even to drive on the uncomfortable fasteners of 250 ... 300 meters. Only after that they will take the correct position and the nut can be tightened.

Replacing the silent blocks of rear suspension

In order to replace worn silent blocks on VAZ-2106 jet traction:

1. Install a car on a viewing pit or a flight.
2. Remove all jet traction in the following order:

• long transverse thrust;
• long thrust on the right;
• left long traction;
• short left traction;
• right short thrust.

Advice!

1. Before pressing rubber bushings, they need to "lubricate" with soap solution. The use of machine or engine oil is not allowed, as they are made of non-lobble-resistant rubber.
