Where is Nissan Teana collected? How Russian nisans are doing. Where Nissan Terrano is assembled

the main / Buying \ Selling

The Russians are familiar with the cars of the Japanese brand Nissan, this technique is highly popular and popular with the people. In addition, for many Nissan cars, Russia is the country of origin. In general, the Japanese company has founded several factories around the world:

  • manufacturing facility in Sunderland (UK);
  • Japanese plant;
  • a large enterprise Nissan Manufacturing Rus is located in St. Petersburg;
  • the AvtoVAZ plant is located in Togliatti, which began producing cars from Nissan after merging with Renault.

Which models can boast of Russian assembly? What cars are supplied to Russia from other countries? These questions will concern us today.

Assembly site Nissan Almera Classic

This model has been produced since 1995, it is one of the oldest models, which is successfully sold on the territory of the Russian Federation. This budget model was launched in 2012 in Togliatti. Not everyone liked this decision of the company, because the army of Almera fans thinned out significantly. AvtoVAZ assembly had a number of drawbacks that many did not want to put up with.

As for the Korean version of the Nissan Almera Classic, it was assembled in South Korea at the Samsung plant. This lasted until 2013. We figured out where Nissan Almera is assembled, it's time to move on to other, no less interesting and iconic models.

Place of assembly Qashqai

A better-selling crossover than the Nissan Qashqai simply does not exist. The sales of this car are breaking all records. The assembly of the Nissan Qashqai was launched in 2007. Up to this point, more than 2 million copies. With the release of each new generation, vehicle dimensions increase, weight decreases and efficiency increases.

This model is not produced in Russia. Where, then, is Nissan Qashqai assembled and from where is it supplied to the Russian market? This process is established in the UK. From here, cars are delivered to the European and Russian markets. True, a limited number of modifications are offered to the attention of the Russians. This applies, for example, to gasoline units - other options are not offered to the Russian user.

Teana build site

The niche of full-size cars on Russian market until 2003 was defective. That all changed with the release of the Nissan Teana, which was originally assembled in Japan. Then this process migrated to St. Petersburg and the national market was already flooded with models of domestic assembly. Among the countries that produce Nissan Teana are also Japan and Thailand. These cars are not supplied to Russia.

Juke build location

Nissan Juke - a car for women

Interesting and unusual is the Nissan Juke. Its appearance in 2010 shook the public and caused a mixed reaction. The fans of such cars are representatives of the younger generation and female drivers. They love the unusual design of the car, the interesting placement of the grips and the stunning optics design. Are you already wondering where the Nissan Juke is assembled? This process has been established in Japan and the UK. Unfortunately, or, on the contrary, fortunately, Nissan Juke is not assembled in Russia. Therefore, the Russians have to be content that does not upset them too much.

Micra assembly site

In 2003, Nissan set new standards in the small car niche with the launch of the new Micra. Even after so much time, the Micra remains the best in its class. Let not everyone agree with this opinion, but it will be difficult for everyone to resist good equipment, economy and low cost. This model is not assembled at any of the Russian factories. The Russians are supplied with such cars from Britain.

Place of assembly Note

Since 2006, there has probably not been a more popular family car than the Note. Even now, 13 years later, this model remains popular and relevant. After all the changes and modifications, the modern Nissan Note has become more environmentally friendly and safer. These two criteria are fundamental when choosing a family car.

This miracle of technology is assembled at a British plant already known to us. From here, cars are delivered to the markets of three continents at once, including the territory of Russia.

Place of assembly Tiida

In 2007, the Russians saw a cool budget model that seriously competed with many copies in this price range. Tiida is available for the Russian user. Where is Nissan Tiida assembled for Russia? You will be surprised, but this process is well established in Mexico. This model takes the longest to reach its potential buyer. Although for other countries and continents, the car is supplied from Japan and Thailand.

X-Trail assembly site

Legendary is the Nissan X-Trail, which was able to push back such rating cars as the Honda CR-V, Hyundai Santa Fe and Kia Sorento. No one has yet succeeded in creating a better one. Despite its long history, Nissan's X-Trail is even today the best and most popular. Each new generation impresses with internal and external changes.

In this car, practicality, spaciousness of the trunk and smart filling are appreciated, which is aimed at making the driver's life easier and increasing the comfort of using the car. And everything would be fine if the Russian assembly did not spoil this picture. For a long time Nissan X-Trail has been assembled in Russia, recently even in St. Petersburg this iconic car has been produced. Until 2009, domestic and Japanese-assembled cars were supplied to the Russian market, which allowed the buyer to choose between economy and first-class quality.

Murano assembly site

The Nissan Murano is as luxurious as the BMW X5, sporty, with a unique body shape and affordable compared to other similar models. Nissan Murano is assembled both in Russia (St. Petersburg) and in Japan. Both options are supplied to the Russian market, so you can choose between affordability and Japanese ideal quality.

Place of assembly Pathfinder

Full-size crossovers often attract not by their cross-country ability, but by their size, high power and status. This is the trend in the global market. The Nissan Pathfinger is assembled for just such occasions. We do not want to hint at its low permeability, because it is not. But on such a car, you really do not want to travel on dirty roads and pave new roads.

The release of this handsome man began back in 1984, despite this fact, the last generation demonstrates. The Pathfinder costs nothing to plug solid models such as Toyota's Land Rover Discovery and Prado. And yet, back to the main question that worries us most today - where is the Nissan Pathfinder assembled. Previously, the car was supplied to the Russian market from Spain. With the onset of 2014, the St. Petersburg plant began to assemble this iconic model.

Place of assembly Patrol and Navara

Every year it becomes more and more difficult to find a real SUV. Crossovers that seduce with beauty and practicality are more appreciated. The Patrol is a real, tough car that can withstand any conditions, ready to overcome difficult obstacles. The main advantage of this model is the Japanese assembly. So far, the company is not going to spoil such a copy of Russian production.

Navara stands out among the pickups. This model is famous and expressive. The manufacturer rarely pampers us with updated versions, but that is why this model does not become less popular and interesting. A pickup truck is delivered to the territory of the Russian Federation from Spain, which can also be considered an advantage. Spain is certainly not Japan, but it is also a good option.

We reviewed many models produced by the Japanese automobile concern Nissan. We hope you find this information useful.

The Japanese automobile company with a rich history and excellent market position continues to develop today, cooperating with powerful global manufacturers. The Nissan concern has become one of the most powerful Japanese car manufacturers, offering customers cars in different classes and with different technical characteristics. Nissan also owns the Datsun brand, which became known to Russian motorists in 2014. A budget sedan of this brand has appeared on the market, assembled at a plant in Togliatti.

Nissan does not seek to provide its customers exclusively with Japanese vehicles. This allows assembly plants to be built around the world and machines to be produced directly in the regions that need to be covered by the products. This approach to production makes the company's machines cheaper for the end user and more profitable for the corporation itself.

The last years of the development of the Nissan corporation

Of course, the factories of the Nissan corporation are present on virtually every continent, but the Russian potential buyer is interested in exactly those manufactures that can offer cars on the Russian market. In this case, we are talking about four enterprises.

The most productive and technologically advanced factories for the production of Nissan cars are located in the Japanese city of Yokohama and the English Sunderland. It was from England that Nissan Qashqai was brought to us in the last generation. In Japan, all the most expensive cars of the corporation, productive off-road vehicles are produced. There is also a Russian company that produces Nissan models according to the following principles:

  • a full cycle of car assembly in compliance with the excellent factory quality of the car;
  • constant expansion of the model range at the plant near St. Petersburg;
  • introduction of advanced technologies for the productivity of the enterprise in Russia;
  • continuous investment in refurbishment of the plant, in improving the quality of assembly;
  • increasing the number of cars produced and other principles of the world corporation.

At the end of last year, the company in Russia went through a series of lawsuits, which effectively stopped the work of assembling cars. But against the background of a general drop in demand for primary transport, this looked like a completely logical decision by the company's management.

If from the very beginning only budget models were assembled at the Russian Nissan assembly plant, today such cars as Teana and X-Trail are being assembled. And in the near future, it is also planned to adjust the lines for assembling the new Qashqai. This will make the cost of cars optimal for the Russian market.

Cooperation of Nissan with other global companies

The company began international cooperation in the middle of the last century, when it brought the Volkswagen corporation to Japan. By sacrificing part of its capacity, Nissan made huge profits from cooperation with the German monster of the automotive industry. Companies to this day maintain partnerships.

Since the 1970s, the recession of the Nissan enterprise begins, which leads to a decline in production, a significant decrease in the quality of car manufacturing. The corporation finds a solution to the problem in cooperation with the successful Renault concern, which today owns more than 40% of the shares. The steps taken by Renault to save Nissan were as follows:

  • a European with a clear understanding of crisis management was put at the head of the company;
  • astronomical sums of funds were poured into the promotion and improvement of the quality of production;
  • a constant renewal of the technical arsenal of production workshops began;
  • the company began to attract Japanese technical geniuses, to intercept personnel from other enterprises;
  • the main stake was made on the export of cars, which continues to this day.

In the domestic market, Nissan is quite difficult to advance due to the presence of incredibly strong competitors. And in other countries, by reducing the cost and increasing the functionality of its cars, the company promotes all the offers of the model line. In today's conditions, Nissan is one of the most promising Japanese concerns.

Nevertheless, competitors constantly overtake the corporation and force it to move forward. In Russia, the cars of the Japanese corporation have become more popular in the secondary market, because new cars are actively growing in price, which customers do not like. But the popularity with the company still remained quite high, thanks to non-standard solutions of the model line.

The main accents of the Nissan model range

The company's offer includes budget models such as the Almera or Sentra. These are quite decent cars that are sold in large quantities and do not serve to raise the corporate image. They are very simple, have only the necessary technologies in the configuration and offer the most necessary security systems and nothing more. But their affordable price attracts buyers in the economy segment.

The company's offer also includes premium vehicles, which are represented, for example, by the Teana executive sedan and the large Murano crossover. This allows the company to count on the goodwill of customers in different price categories. Crossovers are presented by the budget Terrano and the traditional passable X-trail, but the following representatives of the model line attract the most active attention:

  • Juke - a compact SUV with an incredibly bold design, which became a successful experiment of the company;
  • Qashqai is one of the most popular compact crossovers at a great price;
  • Pathfinder is a real off-road vehicle with good technical characteristics and a comfortable interior;
  • Patrol - the legendary SUV, which was revived several years ago and gained the highest popularity;
    The GT-R is a sports coupe that offers an incredible engine, high power and great design;
    Navarra is one of the largest off-road pickup trucks in its class with functional technology.

As you can see, the company's lineup is quite wide, which allows the brand to be promoted in different segments. Most of the corporation's cars delight their customers with high technologies and a sufficiently high-quality inner world, excellent materials and their successful layout. The machines are as modern as possible and meet the most sophisticated customer requirements.

Of course, not all Nissan offers are well received by buyers. Among the proposals of the corporation there are cars that did not meet their expectations. For example, the budget Almera sedan after the 2012 update was supposed to become one of the most popular in its class, but it could not overcome strong competition from European sedans.

We offer you to watch a test drive of the new Nissan Sentra with all its pros and cons:

Summing up

The Japanese corporation Nissan has an interesting history and offers its customers excellent cars. Almost all models that came out from under the wing of this company can be called purebred and unusual. Among the most noticeable general characteristics of the latest models of the manufacturer are excellent shapes, pleasant design, good materials and the highest ride comfort. Even when it comes to simple budget cars.

The company is not chasing the price of its cars, offering more affordable prices than its main competitors. This is one of the main factors that makes many potential buyers take a serious look at the presented cars. How do you personally feel about the Nissan concern and its modern lineup?

First, about the model itself. The first generation of the X-Trail was released in 2000. The model was based on the Nissan FF-S platform, and its exterior was decided in the style of the legendary Nissan Patrol SUV. This brutality, which largely determined the popularity of the novelty, subsequently served as a pretext for criticism of the designers who proposed a new look for the evolved X-Trail. But this will happen only after 13 years, and in 2007 the second generation of the X-Trail, created on the Nissan C-platform, entered the world markets. The same one on which the Qashqai model was launched a year earlier.

Car production in St. Petersburg started in 2009, and in 2012 the plant was awarded its first award: "The best plant for quality" among all Nissan plants in the world

There were few design refinements in the exterior of the second generation, and the X-Trail was still a brutal car - in this Nissan marketers saw one of the highlights of the model. And in 2013, the third generation of the X-Trail came out, which sparked talk about whether the popular car has lost its masculine character, and with it its off-road qualities? As for the latter, it has definitely not lost, but brutality ... Be that as it may, but even in Russia, where they know a lot about SUVs, sales of X-Trail today exceeded sales figures for Qashqai - a car that has long and well established itself in the SUV segment ...

Parts for the body shop come from our own stamping shop

Production of the third generation X-Trail at the Nissan plant in St. Petersburg started in December 2014, and the launch was carried out in record time. But this does not mean at all that the manufacturers could count on some discounts in terms of quality: only full compliance with all company standards gives the green light to start production of the model. By the way, about the loss of brutality ... At the start of Russian production of the third generation X-Trail, fans of the model were interested in whether it was possible to leave the previous version on the assembly line?

It is clear that there were more emotions at the heart of the question: the new X-Trail, firstly, is much more technologically advanced, and secondly, its design required more careful work with the gaps and differences in the body surfaces, and this fact was very soon noted by Russian buyers. As for the efficiency with which the launch of the model took place, the employees of the plant are proud of it for a reason: the start of production of the X-Trail took place simultaneously with the expansion of the plant.

December 2014. The plant launched production of the new Nissan X-Trail

By 2014, the plant, annually producing about 50,000 cars, reached its maximum capacity, and without the expansion of production facilities, the release of new models was no longer possible. New production sites also appeared, such as a stamping shop and a plastic shop, which made it possible to significantly increase the share of domestic components in the X-Trail model. In addition, the rapid start-up was facilitated by changes in the management structure: in each department there was a team directly responsible for the launch. The work of this group began at the stage of solving engineering issues, one and a half to two years before the start of production. All the measures taken made it possible to reach the required quality level not in three months released according to Nissan standards, but in eight to nine weeks.

The painting shop of the plant is equipped with the most modern equipment

The speed with which a new model is launched into production, the figures reflecting the volumes of that very production - all this is important. But there is another equally important criterion - quality. “10-15 years ago, it was believed that the Russian consumer, in conditions of shortage, did not assess the quality of cars so critically,” says Boris Mezentsev, manager of quality assurance for cars of Nissan Manufacturing Rus LLC. - Today, judging by the data of the annual questionnaires of the European standard, we see that our clients are sometimes more demanding than clients in Europe.

And, as a rule, we are not talking about quality, this is a fact for granted. Russian customers want to own a car of the highest standard. " An example of such exactingness was the appeal regarding the size of the gaps in the body parts of the Nissan Teana, although they all fit within the tolerances defined by the Japanese side. As for the X-Trail, there were no issues with gaps and differences in body parts even with the release of the first model. “Without full compliance with Nissan standards, we simply could not produce cars of this brand,” continues Boris Mezentsev. "But if a customer demands an even higher level of quality, we can tighten up Japanese regulations within our plant." And this is not just a declaration of intent: in order to stay ahead of customers' wishes, some tolerances have been revised at Nissan's St. Petersburg plant.

Consumer feedback is really important to plant engineering, and it is not just about collecting statistics and analyzing warranty claims. Measures are being taken on the most pressing requests. For example, there were wishes to change the base angle of the low beam in the Nissan X-Trail headlights. And despite the fact that changing the parameters when installing the head lighting must simultaneously meet the requirements of Nissan and the Russian technical regulations, the customers' request was satisfied. There were also wishes to improve the efficiency of the Nissan X-Trail.

As a result, today's model, in particular, is equipped with an eco-mode function, and compared to the T31, fuel consumption has been reduced by 20-25%. Moreover, in December 2016, a direct line of communication between customers and the plant was launched, excluding not so prompt communication through questionnaires or dealerships. There are also more global wishes of Russian clients. For example, many would like to have a larger trunk on their third generation X-Trail. It is clear that in the conditions of the plant this problem cannot be solved, but such wishes are passed on to the design department of Nissan, and it is very likely that they will be taken into account when developing the next X-Trail model.

Quality standards are determined by Nissan, but internal factory requirements are sometimes more stringent.

It is clear that the client always wants something more. But the third-generation Nissan X-Trail still fits the bill for a reliable family SUV. In comparison with the previous version, it became more maneuverable, received improved steering and variator settings. That is, as the engineers of the Nissan plant themselves say, "has become more friendly." As for the design, which someone at the level of the launch of the model considered controversial, it hardly scared away the true admirers of this car, but it certainly attracted new customers to the ranks of the "Nissan X-Trail fan club".

And in conclusion, a few words about the Russian assembly, a topic that a few years ago was the talk of the town. Today, the level of consumer confidence in cars assembled in Russia is much higher, but one fact is still worth mentioning: according to the results of the latest independent audit, which was carried out by order of the Japanese headquarters, the St. Petersburg Nissan plant in terms of the number of points scored was ahead of the European headquarters. company enterprise, plant in Sunderland (Great Britain).

The growth of production required both the expansion of areas and the emergence of new workshops. The picture shows the plastic workshop

From 2009 to 2014, the plant produced 113,818 Nissan X-Trail vehicles, and from 2014 to the present day, more than 52,000 vehicles of the new version.

Among Russian car enthusiasts, cars of the Nissan concern are among the most popular and beloved. The high Japanese quality and affordable cost of vehicles had a significant impact on potential buyers. In sales of Nissan cars, Russia is the leader. The most demanded and purchased models from us are: Almera, Zhuk, X-Trail and Qashqai. But, among all these vehicles, most of all people prefer the latest crossover. Therefore, true fans of this model are interested in where Nissan Qashqai is assembled for the domestic market. Pleasant news for our compatriots will be the fact that this model is assembled in our homeland.

In 2009, the Japanese opened the Nissan Manufacturing Rus plant near St. Petersburg. Only 35% of the production is produced here, the rest of the cars are brought to our market from abroad. Our company produces roomy, four-wheel drive and comfortable crossovers that are perfect for both family vacations and off-road trips. According to Euro NCAP tests, this "Japanese" got a fairly high score. This was another reason for the popularity of the car. The Japanese have done everything possible to keep this car model in the lead.

What other countries are producing "Japanese"?

In the domestic market, Nissan Qashqai is sold not only of Russian assembly. Buyers can purchase a "purebred" crossover, of course, it will cost several times more due to customs margins. But this fact does not stop buyers, and they are ready to pay big money for a car that is ideal for use in our conditions. So, where else is Nissan Qashqai produced, let's figure it out.

Earlier, we have already said that the St. Petersburg enterprise produces only 35% of this model of cars, the remaining 65% are delivered to us from other countries:

  • Great Britain (city of Sunderland)
  • Japan.

In addition to the Nissan Manufacturing Rus plant, there is another enterprise in the Russian Federation that is engaged in the production of the Qashqai crossover - this is AvtoVAZ. Here, cars are assembled after the merger of Nissan with the French concern Renault. Apparently, Russian fans of the Japanese brand are offered a large selection of cars. Everyone will be able to buy a Nissan Qashqai of Russian, Japanese and English assembly. True, buyers can only purchase a crossover with a gasoline power unit. It can be a car with a 1.6-liter or 2.0-liter engine. The power plant works on steam, both with a mechanical gearbox and a variator.

Build quality

The most important plus of Nissan Qashqai is its high and competent build quality. The owners claim that this car meets all the necessary Japanese production standards. Although the manufacturer used plastic for finishing the car, the material turned out to be of sufficient quality. Even after a long time after operation, drivers will not hear extraneous sounds and unpleasant squeaks. It doesn't matter where Nissan Qashqai is produced, each car is reliable and comfortable. The owners are very pleased with the car with a variator, which is produced by the Japanese company CVT. A car with this type of gearbox is quite easy to control and during long-term operation the transmission does not fail.

The only thing you can pick on is the inconvenient location of such interior parts as: the glove compartment, power window buttons and seat heating buttons. But, for some, this is not a disadvantage, it is rather a subjective disadvantage, and not a general one. The Nissan Qashqai crossover has gone through a lot, but despite all this, it overcame all the obstacles and retained the status of a leader in its class. Still, the highest quality assembly is English. Since 2007, more than two million British-made crossovers have been purchased worldwide. After restyling, this car model has become much lighter. This has been achieved through the use of practical parts and materials. We are supplied to the market with a car only with a gasoline engine, and in the European market they sell hybrid and diesel crossovers Nissan Qashqai.

According to the Association of European Businesses (AEB), in 2013 Nissan Motor Co. Ltd topped the list of companies whose cars are best sold in our country. Let's talk about the sales leader, about the company, and most importantly, what can the manufacturing country say about the quality?

A Nissan made in Russia, the United Kingdom, Mexico, South Africa ... What is it? By the way, this is not the entire list of states where the assembly shops of the enterprise are currently located. In total, about 20 countries have sheltered engineering workshops, design and research centers, and production facilities on their territories. Although among us, ordinary people, this manufacturer is associated exclusively with the country of the "rising sun" - Japan. Despite the fact that many know for certain that the organization is working far beyond the borders of the small island state. Everyone clearly understands that the "roots" (more precisely, the mentality of the employees) are still Japanese.

Japan - "the beginning of the sun"

This country (manufacturer "Nissan") is associated with consumers exclusively with high quality products. It makes no difference what it is about: knives, china, household appliances or cars. The Japanese mentality is not only sentimentality and admiration for traditions, it is, first of all, honor and decency, friendliness and fanatical desire for novelty. And these are not all the distinctive features of the average inhabitant of the land of the rising sun. At the genetic level, they contain hard work and a desire for development. Isn't this the very engine of progress? Perhaps that is why the country is developing so rapidly?

Manufacturer "Nissan"

It is a huge team of about 224,000 employees worldwide. The company's scope of activity includes such areas as shipbuilding and rocketry (in particular, the company's engineers develop engines). Work is underway in the field of telecommunications and finance. Machine tools for textile production are being developed.

Flagship programs

In 1999, two powerful concerns merged: Renault and Nissan. This event had a positive impact on the economic growth of the enterprise as a whole, making it possible to lead the ratings for more than one year. Moreover, success was also ensured thanks to the competently, and most importantly, timely introduced programs. In particular, thanks to the Nissan Revival Plan, the corporation was brought out of the crisis.

NPW

The Nissan Production Way (NPW) program is the backbone of all production. A set of rules is mandatory for employees around the world. The prescribed set of instructions and recommendations allows you to perfect the process of creating any of the concern's cars. With NPW, Nissan connects the power of materials, equipment and people to create what consumers want to pay for.

Proper use of the program allows you to provide and study the needs of customers. Moreover, such a symbiosis and efficient use of financial resources make it possible to expand production. It is the Nissan Production Way program, which has been so successfully implemented, that makes it possible to talk about the quality of products equally well, regardless of which country of manufacture of Nissan is indicated in the vehicle documents. You can be one hundred percent sure that the car will be perfectly assembled both at a plant in Mexico or Russia, and on an assembly line in Japan.

Structure

Nissan Motor Co. Ltd is based in Yokohama (Japan) and its design department in London (England). The research center in Cranfield (England) develops and implements the new generation of Nissan vehicles. It is in England that one of the largest assembly shops of the corporation is located. The port city of Sunderland is not convenient for cheap labor, by no means. It is from here that it is convenient to supply finished products to customers in Europe and North America.

VIN code

It is easy to find out about the place of assembly by the first character of the VIN-code of the car. One single letter will tell us what the country of origin is. Nissan Qashqai, Micra, Note are assembled in the United Kingdom. In the identification documents of the vehicle, this is indicated by the first letter of the code - S.

"Nissan Navara" and "Padfinder" (Pathfinder) are assembled in Spain, and in the documents this is indicated by the symbol V.

Country of origin of "Nissan X-Trail" (X-Trail), "Teana" (Teana), "Murano" (Murano), "Patrol" (Patrol) - Japan, these models have the first character in the VIN-J ...

An assembly line for Tean, X-Trail and Muran was opened at the St. Petersburg plant. And AvtoVAZ began assembling the Almer.
