Audi A6 (4F) - Toyota Camry (40) comparative review: money loves the bill. Which is better to choose: Audi A6 or Toyota Camry Better Toyota Camry or Audi A6

the main / Oil

Experts, analyzing the segment of midsize sedans, often cannot come to an unambiguous conclusion. What's better: Audi A6 or Toyota Camry? It is quite difficult to compare them, if only because they come from different continents, but given the high liquidity of both models in the secondary market, we can conclude that these cars are very interesting to domestic motorists.

Kings of the roads

Comparison of Audi A6 and Toyota Camry is, first of all, a desire to understand which car is more suitable for Russian roads. Both cars were built for highways and high speeds. Of course, it will be cramped for them in the city traffic. In terms of dynamic performance, they exceed all expectations.

Audi A6 is a car in which speed is absolutely not felt. It accelerates from the slightest touch of the gas pedal. Good traction, which is greatly facilitated by the plug-in all-wheel drive systemquattro ultra working with an electronically controlled clutch pack and a claw clutch. The machine reacts to the minimum slip of the front wheels and works to anticipate drifts. She perfectly enters the turns, while constantly controlling the movement of the steering wheel, focusing on speed. The security system in this car will not allow you to turn the steering wheel and add gas when passing a serpentine. Perhaps, it will not appeal to fans of drive, but such is this German.

The A6 copes with difficult sections of the road. Although this model has four suspension options (from basic spring to optional pneumatic with self-adjusting dampers), the car's ride remains firm. The track of this car is not at all capable of it. If you want to conquer bumps, choose the version of the Audi Olroad A6. The sedan, on the other hand, only has speed on the track, and sitting behind the wheel, you can really enjoy the ride. It's all about electromechanical Servotronics, which gives a quick steering wheel response to increases in speed. At the same time, the rear wheels steer along with the front wheels: in the opposite direction at low speeds and in one direction at high speeds. This reduces the turning radius, which prevents skidding and makes it easier to maneuver in reverse.

Is the Toyota Camry more reliable than the Audi A6? It is difficult to judge this on a straight road, but mountain loops lend themselves better to this car, and this is given that a car with a 2.0 engine and a six-speed automatic transmission is offered in the base on the Russian market. This car enters corners with filigree precision, showing a margin of stability. This was achieved through a short steering rack and variable-ratio amplifier.

You expect some kind of adventure from the Japanese, but nothing of the kind happens. Here is exactly everything that a six-speed controller and a small motor are ready to give. He gains momentum measuredly, without a claim to any kind of drive, but this is only when driving in a straight line. On the serpentine, the machine starts frantically thinking which gear to choose, which is expressed in a small twitching. But the steering wheel in such situations is very obedient: the electric power steering in the Camry is placed directly on the rail, which improves the response to driver commands and makes the car more predictable when cornering.

Toyota's suspension is softer, it only reacts to sharp protrusions. The car conceals all other irregularities. The overall weight of the machine also contributes to this. The car does not react to little things under the wheels, although difficult road conditions are not for him. Ahead installed McPherson, and behind - a multi-link with a separate position of the spring and shock absorber. The convenience of the basic version is equipped with 16-inch wheels, which in some part take on bumps and soften the ride. The noise isolation of this model is at a height, but still inferior to the competitor: at high speeds, the engine makes a noticeable noise.

It is difficult to judge which is better: the Audi A6 or the Camry in terms of equipment, especially considering the fundamentally different power units. In terms of fuel economy, it is better to take an Audi equipped with an engine that works on the principle of "mild hybrid". Its 48-volt battery, when recuperated, stores braking energy that is used later when starting the engine. The system is active at a speed of 55-160 km / h and allows the vehicle to coast for 40 seconds. This gives a fuel economy of 0.7 liters per 100 km. Note that the German works on the AI-95, but the Japanese is less demanding and is able to digest the AI-92 recommended for him.

A plus in favor of Toyota is the three-position line of motors. In addition to the base 2.0 engine, cars with a 2.5 engine (180 hp) and a premium segment 3.5 (249 hp) are presented on the Russian market. With the latter, this car behaves more quickly on the track, it is equipped with an 8-speed automatic gearbox, which at speed can be compared with a variator. Audi has only one gasoline engine with a 7-speed robot so far.S- tronic.

Exterior

The appearance of both cars is not for everybody.Audi- a classic European with perfectly adjusted lines. There is not a hint of aggression in it, and even the volumetric grille does not take the emphasis on itself. And yet the Ingolstadt does not look weak. In the A6, flared wheel arches and a massive front bumper flex their muscles favorably. Otherwise, this car is neat, like any other European.

The Japanese are also not lagging behind and in the last generation is increasingly moving away from Asian roots. Toyota is squat and has an elongated, pointed shape. To keep up with the Old World standard, the Camry had to change. She started on a fundamentally new platformGA- K, thanks to which the shape of the overhangs and the length of the doors have changed. The appearance of the Japanese speaks of his intentions to absorb all competitors. The design translates this into a massive air intake. However, this car still failed to completely say goodbye to eastern traditions: it is worth looking at its slanting eyes-headlights and it is immediately clear that in front of you is a self-confident Asian.

In terms of practicality, the exterior is better than the Audi. This car is the king of the city with no claims to sporting feats. It has perfectly calibrated dimensions, the A6 easily drives up to any curbs and does not cling to speed bumps or protruding tram tracks. The Camry, with its massive bumper with a protruding skirt, risks getting injured in city parking mode.

Looks more interesting in profileAudi... The A6 has an original body geometry. Angled A-pillars smoothly connect the bonnet and low roof to provide visibility. Its competitor also doesn't look like a keg. The appearance of the Camry at a cursory glance resembles a Lexus, and this is already a shot at the title of a business sedan. The Japanese focused on a younger audience, adding a more puffy bonnet stamping and depriving their brainchild of classic silver details in the design.

To appreciate the appearanceAudi, wait for the night. Basic LED lighting allows you to snatch this car out of the general traffic flow, and if you put optional optics on the A6Audi Matrix Led, then there will be no limit to perfection. Here you will find dynamic direction indicators, an intelligent road illumination system depending on the general illumination, and an obstacle scanner.

The competitor's head optics are also LED, but in terms of functions, the system does not differ in anything special. Even the enlarged shape of the rear lights could not correct the situation and distinguish the Camry from other cars.

Interior

In terms of ergonomics, both cars are good, but Toyota has more space for the driver and passengers. The only complaint is the too high seating position on the driver's seat even in its lowest position, as well as the additional distance between the threshold and the side edge of the seat: in slushy weather, there is a high risk of staining clothes on the threshold. The seats in both the Audi and Camry are standard, without the function of memorizing the position of the body. Lateral support is better in the A6, but in its competitor, the side bolsters are so widely spaced that they do not always fulfill their function as intended.

Toita, reoriented to the European market, equaled German cars in terms of the comfort of the rear passenger row. Ideally, both in it and in the A6, only two will sit in the back. Due to the high central tunnel of the transmission, it will be inconvenient to accommodate the three of them. In Audi, free space is also concealed by the protruding climate system unit.

Modern cars are striking in their interior design. For a German, everything is organic and strict. The lines are straight, without chrome overload. The central panel has two digital displays at once: the lower one is responsible for climate control, the upper one is the multimedia system. At the same time, Audi does not feel at all the digital car of the future. Despite the fact that the displays in it are touch-sensitive, pressing the buttons is duplicated by a tactile response. Plus A6 - optional Audi Virtual Cockpit, the monitor of which is located on the dashboard. It displays 3D maps that are synchronized over the Internet with online data.

The interior of the Camry immediately suggests that this is an Asian car. Many flowing lines in thin edging are the hallmark of this model. Digital technology has not bypassed this car either: a large touchscreen is located on the center panel, surrounded by physical function control buttons. All multimedia and the navigation system are displayed here. The climate control unit is here in the form of twisting washers.

The dashboard, in comparison with the A6, looks poor. It does not even have a digital shield on it. All that the Japanese were limited to is a small display, which displays information about the state of the car, and two classic round scales on its sides.

If we compare cars in terms of interior trim, then at first glance it is difficult to say which is better: an Audi or a Camry, but in terms of driver comfort, it is better to buy an A6. This car is focused on the front row, and this is a feature of not the first generation of the model (even a second-hand 2012 Audi A6 was a driver's car). Blocks, additional compartments for storing small items, and the selector knob itself are placed so ergonomically that all functions can be operated with your eyes closed. The only drawback is the glossy panels, which leave fingerprints on, spoiling the aesthetic perception of the machine.

The Camry, on the other hand, is more passenger-oriented than driver-oriented. It is worth noting the digital control panel for the climate system and multimedia, built into the folding armrest on the rear sofa (albeit only as an option).

Both cars are prominent representatives of sedans. It is impossible to require a large luggage compartment from them, but still, for the sake of fairness, it should be noted that it is more convenient to transport goods in Audi, which has a trunk volume of 530 liters versus 469 for a competitor. Much will not fit in it: like all sedans, the trunk is low and stretched in width. The backrests fold down in a 40:20:40 ratio for extra volume. On the Camry, the backrests can only be folded in a 40:60 ratio.

No matter how hard the Japanese try to bring their car closer to the European business class, the Camry remains a consumer sedan. In technical terms, these two cars are about the same level, but Audi is in the lead in terms of the quality of design and the number of digital assistants. The A6 is a sign of European quality, while the Camry remains more of an Asian car. A plus in favor of the Japanese is the price, but is it worth it to skimp when buying a car that can emphasize your status?

The midsize sedan segment is a pretty broad concept. And although the interpretation of belonging to this category is determined exclusively by size, in all other parameters the differences can be very significant, and often cardinal. Can you compare, for example, the Audi A6 and the Toyota Camry? After all, if we take cost as the main criterion, then these are clearly not classmates. However, both models are highly liquid. This means that their comparative review will be useful for those who have no financial problems and want to choose a reliable and resilient four-wheeled friend.

As you can see, Audi is more massive and overall, more powerful and more economical. But let's evaluate the appearance of the cars.

Exterior

Both sedans, despite belonging to different schools, have a lot in common. The A6 is a typical European, without a hint of aggression, with a perfectly adjusted silhouette. The massive radiator grille, stretching from the bottom of the bumper to the hood, looks so organic that over time you stop noticing it. At the same time, a native of Ingolstadt looks quite worthy - muscular wheel arches in combination with a high bumper give the car solidity. But the side and rear view of Audi is simple and neat, however, like most sedans of this class with European ancestry.

Toyota people are also trying their best to keep up with modern automotive fashion, but these attempts cannot be called successful either. Yes, in many ways the classic Asian design has been revised, but it is still guessed. The Camry is squat, characterized by a convex shape reminiscent of a spindle. An attempt to meet the standards of the Old World consists in the transition to the completely new GA-K platform, which has radically changed the length of the doors and the geometry of the overhangs. The main attraction of the exterior of the Japanese is a massive air intake and a very narrow grille. But the Asian roots are guessed with absolute precision in the narrow shape of the head optics.

Both cars are great for city streets, the Camry is a little more maneuverable, but the A6 is much more practical: it does not in the least resemble a sports car, has an ideal body geometry, parks without problems next to high curbs and does not cling to the bottom if the road is blocked by a speed bump »Or tram track. At Camry, the situation is not so optimistic: due to the strongly protruding bumper skirt, it is always at risk, whether it is parking or just moving in dense city traffic.

The type of assembly is more interesting for the German. Strictly speaking, the geometry of the A6 is not quite standard: the thin A-pillars smoothly merge into the roof and bonnet, forming a single-volume rather than a classic front end. However, the Toyota sedan is far from the bored barrel shape. Many see the new Camry as a Lexus look. What does this mean? Surely about the desire of Toyota designers to bring their brainchild closer to the category of cars of a higher rank.

If the Camry was previously perceived as a car for a typical office worker, now the emphasis is shifting towards the youth audience. In particular, the puffy bonnet really adds a bit of aggressiveness to the sedan. Remained in the past and silver details that adorn the exterior of the car.

The appearance of a German sedan is best judged in the dark. Even in the basic configuration, there is LED backlighting, which allows you to accurately identify the model in a dense line of other cars. As an option, the Audi Matrix Led package can be installed, which will make your car unique with an obstacle scanner, direction indicators with dynamic lighting angle change, and a computerized lighting system that reacts to external light output.

The Japanese head optics are also completely LED-based, but functionally there is nothing that stands out. The attempt to become more visible thanks to the enlarged taillights can hardly be called successful.

So the exterior of the Audi A6 is much better than the Toyota Camry - let's write down a full score in favor of the German.

Salon and trunk

The ergonomics of the interior space of both vehicles is excellent. But what is interesting is that with the large dimensions of the Audi, this sedan is cramped, both in the back and in the front. The Camry is fine with that. The only drawback can be called a fairly high seating position of the driver, even if the seat is lowered to the maximum. The presence of a gap between the side of the seat and the sill increases the risk of staining long clothing on a dirty door sill in rainy weather. Finally, the height of the backrests at the front is not up to modern standards. And in the A6, m in Camry, the function of storing the position of the body of the driver / front passenger is absent. The German has better organized lateral support for the seats, which confidently performs its function in any road conditions. Toyota's side bolsters are too wide, so the load on the back increases when cornering. If you do not resist, then it is fashionable to easily fall sideways.

Whereas previous generations of Camry were focused on the North American market, alignment with the Old World forced the Japanese to make the car wider. The attempt is valid, but still two people will be as comfortable as possible in the back seat. Like the German sedan. The reason is trivial - the central tunnel is too high in height. In the A6, there is less free space also because it is eaten up by the separate climate control unit protruding at a considerable distance.

Let's move on to the ergonomics of the front half of the cabin. At Audi, everything looks organic here, albeit strictly. The straightness of the lines is softened by a small amount of chrome details. The central panel contains two displays: the lower one displays the climate system settings, the upper one is responsible for the functioning of the multimedia system. But I hardly want to say that this sedan is a stronghold of digital technologies - the Germans managed to find a balance between digitalization and a classic interface: so, by pressing the touch buttons, you will definitely experience tactile sensations. Another Audi feature is the Virtual Cockpit system (optional), in which the display is built into the dashboard and shows three-dimensional maps of the terrain obtained in the PB mode via the Internet.

Once inside the Camry, you immediately understand. There are few straight lines, almost everywhere there is a chrome edging. And it would be strange if Toyota did not provide their car with modern multimedia: a fairly large touch screen is placed on the CPU, but almost all control buttons are duplicated in physical form, focusing on the perimeter of the display. The monitor displays both information about the operation of the multimedia center and navigation data. Climate control is controlled by means of rotary washers.

Toyota's tidy doesn't really stand out. There is no digital block here, even optional. There is only a small screen, which displays data on the state of the car's systems, and on the sides there are two easy-to-read scales of a classic round shape.

The quality of the finish on both sedans is about the same. Not luxury, but far from budget. In terms of driver comfort, the A6 has the edge. However, its 2012 predecessor was also driver-oriented. How is it shown? Perfectly calculated ergonomics. All control units, all compartments and niches for storing small things, even the selector handle are located so well that after a month of operation you can reach all these elements with your eyes closed. The disadvantage is the glossy plastic surface of the torpedo, by which you can memorize the drawing of your fingerprints.

Camry, on the other hand, creates more convenience for passengers. For example, there is a digital panel in the rear armrest that allows you to control the climate and multimedia systems, and in the front there is an ottoman for the VIP passenger. However, both functions are implemented as an option.

It is believed that sedans have no equal in terms of trunk volume, but these models, despite their large dimensions, have rather average figures: 530 for Audi and 526 for a competitor. Of course, you can't fit a lot of luggage here. On the A6, the backrests fold down in a 4: 2: 4 ratio, allowing the luggage compartment to be expanded as needed. Toyota's transformation capabilities are more modest (4: 6), but this is generally not bad.

Engines and transmissions

The line of power units in the Audi A6 is larger, and besides gasoline engines, there are also turbodiesels. On the Russian market, there are models of an executive sedan equipped with the following engines:

  • 190-horsepower 1.8-liter aspirated;
  • two-liter 190-horsepower turbodiesel;
  • two-liter gasoline engines with a capacity of 249/252 liters. with.;
  • three-liter 333-strong unit.

As a transmission, a robotic S-tronic box or a six-speed manual is installed (only for the basic version).

Camry's line of engines consists only of gasoline aspirated engines:

  • two-liter 150-strong;
  • 2.5-liter with 181 horsepower (most common);
  • 249-horsepower three-liter (installed on top configurations).

The hybrid power plant is found only in the secondary market - such models are not officially supplied to Russia due to the poorly developed filling infrastructure.

If you like active driving, it is better to choose the A6 - all engines of the German sedan have decent dynamics. Those who prefer a relaxed driving style will surely like the Toyota better. It should not be forgotten that Japanese engines are much more reliable, since their design is much simpler - there is nothing to break there. But you have to come to terms with low efficiency and weak dynamics. The A6 engines are more complex, responsive and more economical, but you will likely run into a lot of problems in their operation. However, the new Toyota 3.5-liter engine is also not fully debugged, as well as.

The CVT from Audi is generally good, but with significant mileage it can start to malfunction, the Japanese automatic is more reliable in this regard. The Germans initially have all-wheel drive versions, the Toyota Camry has such models only recently, so it is problematic to find them on the domestic market.

Choosing between Camry and A6 for engine + transmission combination depends on your preference.

Dynamics, fuel consumption

Since the engines considered in this review are different, it is difficult to unequivocally judge the advantage of this or that model. From the point of view of fuel economy, we put Audi on a fat plus, but the Japanese is omnivorous - his engines will not give up on the AI-92 either.

The two-liter Camry engine is frankly weak - for such a massive sedan, its power is clearly not enough. But the top-end 3.5-liter engine, paired with an upgraded 8-band automatic transmission, is pretty nimble.

Here are the data on the dynamics and fuel consumption for these models:

Controllability and security

The Audi A6 is a very obedient car. Pedantic Germans have managed to convey their penchant for discipline to their sedan - even a slight step on the accelerator pedal will not be ignored. The car holds the road well, especially modifications equipped with Quattro Ultra - a switchable all-wheel drive system. Thanks to it, the car reacts in time to the slightest slip by connecting the rear wheels. This allows early warning of the occurrence of drifts.

Entering high-speed turns does not require additional efforts from the driver - steering control is carried out automatically, depending on the speed of movement. Even if you want to drive on a winding road, the security system will not provide you with such an opportunity, you will not be able to turn the steering wheel beyond what it should be, and you will not be able to add gas. If you have a need for an adrenaline rush, such a trick will not work with a German.

But the suspension of the A6 is quite stiff, so that the sedan copes with potholes of Russian roads with great difficulty. And this is despite the several available suspension options (the simplest option is the classic spring, the advanced one is pneumatics with automatically adjustable shock absorbers). Of course, driving on a track is contraindicated for this car - for these purposes, the automaker has an off-road version of the Allroad A6. The sedan is designed for the fast lane where the owner can get the most out of it.

The presence of an electromechanical Servotronic allows for the slightest increase in speed to get a prompt response on the steering wheel. In this case, the rear wheels are involved in steering along with the front wheels, but in the opposite direction when the car is moving at low speeds and, accordingly, in the same direction at high-speed mode. The system allows you to minimize the turning radius without the participation of the driver, preventing skidding and greatly facilitating reversing when maneuvering in the city.

What about the Camry's handling? On a straight highway, the differences are minimal, but the mountain serpentines lend themselves better to the Japanese. This is surprising, since our basic modification is equipped with a weak two-liter engine. Nevertheless, the Camry enters high-speed turns with an unattainable precision for a German, demonstrating a solid margin of stability. The secret lies with the shortened steering rack, as well as the presence of an amplifier that works with a dynamically variable coefficient.

The test two-liter motor works in the same measured way as its older ones gather, picking up speed slowly but surely. The situation changes on a bumpy road: when ascents with a noticeable gradient, the six-speed automatic begins to think about which gear to use, which is felt in the form of small jerks. But on the other hand, the steering wheel behaves like a very well-mannered boy, which is facilitated directly on the steering rack: the response to steering on the Camry is instant, and the behavior in turns is quite predictable.

Finally, Toyota has a very soft suspension, it is a very comfortable car that only sees big obstacles. Moving along a track with small irregularities, you will not feel them - no holes, no bumps, no joints. But it would be a mistake to say that the Japanese sedan is ideal for our roads - he frankly does not like difficult road conditions. It is worth noting the good noise isolation of the model, but Audi has it even better: at high speeds, the Camry's power unit makes a noticeable noise.

Service cost

We bring to your attention a table showing the approximate annual expenses in rubles for the operation of the cars considered in the review. We assume that their annual mileage is 20 thousand kilometers:

Options and prices

The basic equipment of the Audi A6 (it is called that) costs 2.66 million rubles - it is a 1.8-liter 190-horsepower engine and a manual transmission. For this money we get forged 17-inch wheels ("six arms"), xenon bifunctional head optics, LED running lights, tire pressure sensor, heat-insulating glass, steering column with tilt / departure adjustment, dual-zone climate control, immobilizer ...

The most expensive equipment - with all-wheel drive and a 3-liter engine - costs from 3.96 million rubles.

The basic configuration of the Camry ("Standard") costs 1.57 million rubles and is equipped with a two-liter 150-horsepower engine and automatic transmission. The set of options includes a shark fin antenna, front / side airbags and curtain airbags, alloy wheels, active safety systems ABS / EBD / BAS / TRC / VSC + / HAC, dual-zone climate control.

The top Executive Safety modification costs 2.5 million and is equipped with a new 3.5-liter 250-horsepower engine.

Conclusion

Despite all the attempts of Japanese Toyota designers to bring their sedan as close as possible to European standards, they only partially succeeded. The Camry was and still is a mass-market model. From the point of view of technical characteristics, the cars in question are approximately equal with a slight advantage in the direction of Audi, but the advantage of the German becomes obvious in the quality of design, and the equipment with modern digital assistants is more abrupt here.

The A6 is a sedan of not just European, but genuine German quality, while the new Camry remains a car with clearly visible Asian roots. The main advantage of the Japanese is more loyal prices, but is it necessary to save on a status car?

In a word, if after reading this review you are in doubt which to choose, Audi A6 or Toyota Camry, then we advise you to first decide on the budget, and within its framework, study the available modifications and equipment of both sedans more carefully.

I came across a srach about Prado and Pajero SUVs on the net and happily switched to comparing the Camry and the Audi A6.
Delivered, ignited, blazed, bombed and missed the post. Therefore, under the cut is Dmitry's post with comments. Personally mine. As a person who knows Toyota not by hearsay, who exploited the 2013 Camry in the Elegance Plus configuration and had the good fortune to exploit the 2012 Audi A6 a little. Of course, I will say right away that Dmitry's post is very subjective and emotional. For a person has the right. And I do not argue with him, I just cite the real facts of a person who studies cars from an exclusively practical point of view.

Black - Dmitry, blue - my notes.
I came across a small srach on the net regarding the merits and demerits of Pajero and Prado SUVs. I would like to make a small comment, both of these models are dull shit. That is, complete and irrevocable shit.
Call this shit off-road vehicles can only be insane.
Now let's summarize.
Cars in the world are made by only three groups, and they are all located in Germany.
These are Audi, Mercedes and BMW.
All other factories produce whatever you want: stools on wheels (Renault), model constructor (Lada), electric forklifts (Toyota), drums (Volkswagen), and other stuff that the world auto industry makes for millions of idiots.
I'm not a car expert or a Formula One racer. I will not reproduce the factory characteristics of the machines for you.
I'll just share my experience and feelings.
From 1991 to the present day, I have had more than fifty cars of various brands, from Ford Escort to BMW X5. I started with Izh-combi, Zhiguli three, then the eleventh, until I finally switched to foreign cars. Of course, most of the cars were bought in Germany for resale.
This I mean that I have plenty of experience in driving absolutely all cars. And diesel and gasoline, and SUVs and sedans, and buses and minivans.
I bought a Toyota Camry in 2008 in a showroom in St. Petersburg, it was assembled in Japan.
In 2013, having lived for almost a year in Thailand, upon arrival in Russia, I sold the old car, and bought a new one in the showroom (our assembly), complete with prestige. Everyone who knows what it is about. The engine is 2.4 liters there. A whole bunch of bells and whistles. And for an ordinary citizen who eats dumplings for breakfast and goes to the dacha to dig potatoes, this car is perfect.
Here it is necessary to mention the following thing. Before buying a Camry, I drove a BMW for five years. First, on the "seven" 740 Long, then on the three-liter, gasoline X5.
In the end, I completely abandoned this brand, but only due to the fact that this car has one mystical feature - it is not you who drives it, but it drives you. She influenced my adventurous mindset and natural irascibility in the most negative way.
Note:
In principle, Dmitry's motivation is clear. In fact, having a huge number of cars before, in the end, ignoring the rest, still bought a Camry. And already in the 50m body, which was already more interesting and better in all respects than its predecessor in the 40m body. In fact, the previous generation Lexus LS, adjusted for the non-premium Toyota brand.

Having moved to Toyota, I felt a little like a pensioner, which had a beneficial effect on my attitude towards others. I was in no hurry (it’s pointless to rush in a Toyota), I didn’t show off, I didn’t turn on loud music and didn’t overtake on bends. I was an ordinary car enthusiast, without cool numbers and all sorts of fucking.
This sad story could have ended like this, and I would have died at 95 years old driving a 15th generation Camry, not knowing that there is joy and love in the world.
If…
If only Grisha Cherkas and I had not gone to Vilnius by Q-5. The two-liter SUV carried us at a speed of 160 kilometers per hour, eating something like seven liters of gasoline.
Please note that at a speed of 100 km / h it was possible to listen to the radio in it! Music! This is an absolutely impossible thing for a Toyota of the most expensive configuration.
And another moment. There, the head restraints are adjusted to suit your needs. That is, you expose it according to your anatomical configuration. Such is the strange thing that no one in the world has thought of, except for Audi.
In the end, I rode different models of Audi from A6 to Q7 and decided to get rid of this shit that I have been driving for the last five years.
Toyota is a great cart. Reliable and free. I don't think she has any differences from Lada.
Moreover, Toyota has our assembly. A hard start, gasoline is at least two liters higher than the norm, even the grass leaves scratches on the body (I polished the car every year), what speed and drive she doesn’t know, and most importantly, she doesn’t drive.
Doesn't go. Stands still. Flounders and does not go, no matter how much you press the gas pedal. Well, what the hell is it when you can't outrun a truck speeding a hundred kilometers an hour?
At 90 km / h, all negotiations in the car must be conducted in a raised tone. At a hundred kilometers, the music can no longer be heard. At a hundred and fifty, Toyota begins to fart with fear.
Everything.
Bye Bye!
And at this point, ambivalent feelings began to break me. On the one hand, Dmitry, like me, was the owner of a Camry with a 2.5-liter engine of 181 horses and a 6-speed automatic. The complete set is maximum, which gives the maximum in options, that is, navigation and a three-zone climate and all thirty-three pleasures. At the same time, apparently, he either forgot to close the windows, or did not make the music quieter, or Toyota offended him in some way.
However, it is worth any of you to drive a Camry, and even in the Prestige Plus package, at least 500 kilometers around the city and the highway, you will understand that Dmitry is more than disingenuous about sound insulation, dynamics, consumption and bodywork.
It is worth clarifying that the Camry (in the Elegance Plus package), went to St. Petersburg, Lipetsk, Voronezh and Krasnodar (and, of course, back). Comfort, dynamics, acoustic comfort and so on are quite up to par. Since at cruising 130 kilometers per hour on the highway (and sometimes overtaking up to 150 km / h), the Camry behaved absolutely adequately, predictably and comfortably. Like the right business sedan. Made for the mass consumer in any country in the world. At such speeds, I was perfectly communicating on the phone through the built-in hands free, without raising my voice, listening to music without bringing the volume to a critical level, and when I was driving with my wife, we talked normally in a low voice so as not to wake up the child in the back seat.
What an expense ... Norm. Who established it, this norm? GOST? Ministry of transportation? World Fuel Consumption Institute in Brussels? And, yes, this is Dmitry's personal norm. OK.
My consumption on a 2.5 liter engine in the city was 11 liters (traffic jams, the Moscow Ring Road, that's all), on the highway (cruising 130 km / h, sometimes overtaking up to 150) - 8 liters. 95 gasoline. For fun, I measured the maximum speed. At 170 km / h, it just became uninteresting. The gain in time is 20 minutes, and the consumption is increasing, and what's the point?

Please note that Toyota type two-hundredth "Kruzaks" are the favorite cars of our elite cattle.
Et yeah. And also 600 Mercedes more.
It's simple. Previously, he rode on a toned fret, but now he moved to a toned “Kruzak”.
Well, all the show-off boys are only in your rooms. From them you can immediately see whether you are giving or sucking.
Et, too, yeah. And also 600 Mercedes more.
I'll tell you about the A6.
Sitting in this car, I understand why God created man. There is one reason here. Man was supposed to be the master of the world. Where the fuck have you seen the owners in a Peugeot or Volkswagen?
The owners drive BMW 7 and Mercedes S. Audi for escort or deputies)))))).
These are moral freaks. I'm not talking about the owners of Hyundai and other shit on four wheels, which brave people call cars.
No.
Shit can't be called a car, let's honestly tell ourselves about it.
If you are an honest person, then you should always answer honestly:
-Hi brother, what are you driving?
- On shit.
This is how your conversation should be structured.
Or:
-Listen, when will you get out of your shit?
-When I sell it for parts.
Here I agree. The Korean auto industry is not a cake yet. Like Chinese.
I've been in all the cars that have been produced for the last three years. In all salons and models. I know all these empty drums with the sounds of tam-tam-tam on the pavement.
Damn, what did all VW, BMW, Mercedes, Jaguar / Land Rover dealers do, for example, to hate them so? Toyota, of course, is not the top of all, but, damn it ... I would not write off BMW from the accounts.
So, if joy and love are not alien to you, sit on the turbocharged A6 and zip at a speed of 200 km / h, which is not felt at all.
Is 250 weak? Well, I was driving.
Aaaaaaa .... Wononocho, Mikhalych) Well, if so, then yes. 2% of all car trips to be able to fly at a speed of 200-250 km / h is priceless.
An engine that switches off during a stop, anatomical seats, an adjustable headrest, iron, like in a tank, incredible acceleration, low fuel consumption, beautiful appearance - all this is an Audi six. I bought it last December.
This is how the stars were formed. One person was selling a one-year-old Audi with a range of 15 thousand km, another wanted to buy a one-year-old Toyota from me with a range of 16 thousand km.
And every day I am glad that I did it. I bought a car with my own face and character. Recognizable. Reliable. Economical and practical. Yes, where the Japs are, rest.

Fin.

Already on my own, so as not to strain the blue color a lot.
In principle, I understand Dmitry. Compared to Audi - Toyota, of course, loses. Moreover - A6. But there are certain reasons for this:
1. Audi - premium, Toyota - middle segment.
2. The cost of cars differs quite well.
For example, the Audi A6 in the middle Sport configuration with 1.8 petrol in 190 horses, excluding additional options, pulls 2.475.000 rubles.
Toyota Camry in Elegance Plus configuration with 2.5 engine in 181 horses - 1,500,000 rubles.
3. The cost of operation is also different - the cost of maintenance and spare parts differs by about half (Toyota is cheaper).
4. One of Toyota's main trump cards is the quality and availability of service. In whatever city in Russia and the world you are, everywhere in dealerships the same high level of service and professionalism of technical specialists. The availability and cost of spare parts, quality control - the Japanese have built all this into a cult.
Leaving the MKAD, in fact, only Toyota / Lexus services remain normal. All other brands are engaged in some kind of enchanting crap for pumping out money.
5. Fuel quality. Toyota's fuel system is less demanding about what you fill your car with. Whereas European environmental standards plus highly loaded turbocharged, environmentally friendly VAG engines can simply refuse to use fuel from any gas station. And this is not a guarantee from the word at all.
6. I will not talk about the secondary housing. Do not consider it a troll, but exchanging a one-year-old Camry for a one-year-old Audi is an indicator))))))))

In general, I am not against Audi, although from the Germans my heart belongs to BMW.
And yes, maybe I already got my adrenaline, because now I have a Volvo S60 with 210 horses and all-wheel drive, and for some reason Volvo is also considered a pensioner car)))
But for all the time of my work at Toyota, I have NEVER been ashamed of ANY car of the brand that I sold. And I understand that Toyota does not shine with mega-design ideas and exclusive interior, ultra-modern technologies and other German things. But the Camry is for another - for a calm, confident, affordable and comfortable movement on all roads and directions. And the statistics of sales in Russia and the world speaks for itself.

Toyota - drive a dream)))

UPD: I remembered one phrase that I sometimes had to use when communicating with Toyota buyers, who compared it with BMW, Audi and other Jaguars:
"BMW and Audi is like a good lover - it evokes emotions, adrenaline, you spend big money on it ... But you still return to your wife. And this wife is Toyota."
