At one time, the "first Qashqai" became a pioneer who opened the segment of compact urban crossovers to the world. Many years have passed since then, and numerous competitors have appeared on the market, with which you can no longer compete with "old yeast". As a result, the world has witnessed the appearance of the second generation of "Qashqai", which was first presented in November 2013 in London, and celebrated its full-scale debut in January 2014 at a car show in Brussels.

There were no global changes in the appearance of "Kashkaya" during the transition to a new generation. The crossover has retained its recognizable body shape, but has become noticeably more modern, dynamic and sporty.

Well, one of the main premieres of the Geneva Motor Show, which took place in March 2017, was the second generation Nissan Qashqai, which underwent restyling. When updating the "European favorite", the Japanese focused on exterior design, improving the quality of interior decoration, refinement of handling and the introduction of an autopilot.

In October 2018, the Japanese again modernized the five-door, but this time limited themselves to revising the power range - the car received a new "turbo four" 1.3 DIG-T, which replaced both previous gasoline engines and is available in three boost options, as well as a robotic gearbox instead of a continuously variable variator. True, all these changes are not for Russia.

Outwardly "Qashqai" is a real handsome man, he is equally impetuous, fresh and harmonious, from whatever side you look. But the front view of the car is also quite monumental - the credit for this belongs to the complex outlines in the corporate style "V-motion" with "boomerangs" of running lights in the headlights and a "curly" bumper.

The wedge-shaped silhouette of the crossover attracts the attention of the famously "flying" window sill line, embossed "folds" on the sides and a sloping roof, which gives it lightness and sportiness, and the lean rear "flaunts" spectacular lanterns with the same "boomerangs" and a bumper with overlays "under metal".

The length of the "second" Nissan Qashqai is 4377 mm, the length of the wheelbase is 2646 mm, the width fits into the frame of 1806 mm, and the height reaches 1590 mm. The crossover's ground clearance is 200 mm, and its curb weight ranges from 1373 to 1528 kg and depends on the type of engine and the level of equipment.

There is a good balance between ergonomics and quality in "Qashqai", besides, the interior looks quite European, and the abundance of large forms in it creates the illusion of a more expensive product. A cool multifunctional steering wheel with a rim truncated at the bottom, clear instruments with an advanced on-board computer, an elegant center console with a color screen of the multimedia complex and an extremely clear "microclimate" unit - inside the SUV is beautiful, modern and neat.

Although the five-seater interior of this car does not differ in unlimited spaciousness, it is able to provide an adequate supply of space not only for the front, but also for the rear passengers. Particularly worth noting are the front seats with well-defined, almost sporty lateral support, which does not give back tiredness even during long trips. On the second row, there is a not very comfortable sofa - with a flat profile, a thick pillow and an unnecessarily hard filler.

In the arsenal of the second generation Nissan Qashqai there is a trunk with a volume of 430 liters, which has an additional niche for a spare wheel. If the second row of seats is folded down, then the useful volume of the cargo compartment will grow to 1,585 liters, and this will result in a completely flat floor.

On the Russian market, the second generation "Kashkaya" is presented with three variants of the power plant:

  • The role of the junior (base) engine is assigned to the turbocharged petrol 4-cylinder DIG-T 115 unit with a modest displacement of 1.2 liters (1197 cm³). Equipped with a direct fuel injection system, this engine develops no more than 115 horsepower at 4500 rpm, and is also capable of delivering up to 190 Nm of torque already at 2000 rpm.
    As a gearbox for the "junior" unit, a 6-speed "mechanics" or a continuously variable variator are offered, as a result of which the car accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 10.9-12.9 seconds, reaching a speed threshold of 173-185 km / h (in favor of "pens").
    As for fuel consumption, in urban traffic jams, the crossover eats about 6.6-7.8 liters, on the highway it is limited to 5.1-5.3 liters, and in mixed driving mode it requires no more than 5.6-6.2 liters per 100 km.
  • The second gasoline engine for the "second Qashqai" is a four-cylinder aspirated in-line with a total displacement of 2.0 liters (1997 cc) and direct injection. The maximum power is limited to 144 "horses" at 6000 rpm, and the peak torque is limited to 200 Nm, developed at 4400 rpm.
    For this engine, Nissan’s offer the same gearboxes as for the previous version, but an all-wheel drive transmission is also combined with the variator. In the case of "mechanics", the SUV accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in just 9.9 seconds, reaching a speed maximum of 194 km / h and consuming an average of about 7.7 liters of gasoline in a mixed driving mode.
    Starting acceleration to "hundreds" of "automatic" car is 10.1-10.5 seconds, peak capabilities do not exceed 184 km / h, and fuel "appetite" varies from 6.9 to 7.3 liters.
  • The only diesel here is the dCi 130, which has 4 in-line cylinders with a total displacement of 1.6 liters (1598 cc) and a direct fuel injection system. Its peak power falls at around 130 "horses", reached at 4000 rpm, and the upper limit of torque at 1750 rpm rests at 320 Nm.
    Such an engine works in conjunction with a variator and front-wheel drive, which allows the five-door to gain the first 100 km / h in 11.1 seconds, maximizes 183 km / h and "drinks" no more than 4.9 liters in the combined cycle.

The 2nd generation Nissan Qashqai is the first vehicle to be based on the new CMF (Common Module Family) modular platform. The crossover has a front independent suspension based on MacPherson struts, supplemented with an anti-roll bar, as well as a rear multi-link system. All wheels have disc brakes, while the front wheels are ventilated. Rack and pinion steering gear "Japanese" is complemented by electric power steering with sport driving function.

The all-terrain vehicle is offered to buyers in front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. In the second case, the SUV boasts an All Mode 4 × 4 transmission with an electromagnetic clutch in the rear wheel drive and several driving algorithms: “2WD”, “Auto” and “Lock”. In the "Lock" mode, the moment is distributed between the axles "like brothers" in a compulsory manner, and the clutch itself remains locked up to 80 km / h.

The restyled Nissan Qashqai of the second generation is offered on the Russian market exclusively with gasoline engines (the turbodiesel has been removed from its power range) in ten equipment options to choose from - “XE”, “SE”, “SE Yandex”, “SE +”, “QE”, “ QE Yandex ”,“ QE + ”,“ LE ”,“ LE + ”and“ LE Top ”.

A crossover in the initial configuration with a 1.2-liter turbo engine and a 6MKPP will cost from 1,290,000 rubles, and with an "aspirated" 2.0-liter and a "manual" gearbox - from 1,423,000 rubles (surcharge for the variator in both cases is 61,000 rubles). For an all-wheel drive modification, you will have to pay a minimum of 1,576,000 rubles.

The "top" modification with a 2.0-liter unit, a variator and front-wheel drive costs from 1,878,000 rubles, while the all-wheel drive version is not cheaper than 1,970,000 rubles.

Such a car has in its arsenal: dual-zone climate control, 19-inch wheels, leather trim, a media center with a 7-inch screen, all-round cameras, all-LED optics, panoramic roof, electric front seats, heated steering wheel and rear sofa, sensors light and rain, blind spot monitoring, auto braking, driver fatigue control and a bunch of other "bells and whistles".

The Qashqai is a compact crossover that combines the best qualities of a traditional family hatchback with the capabilities of a compact SUV. This sturdy, resilient and agile vehicle is built specifically for the city. High ground clearance and four-wheel drive are an undeniable advantage in modern urban conditions. Qashqai already offers the consumer a little more than the usual compact class.

The model was created from scratch to fill another market niche, where the Dodge Caliber and Suzuki SX-4 already rule the ball. The neat, impeccably calibrated, but extremely discreet Qashqai is the first truly European Nissan. It was designed at Nissan NTCE in Cranfield, England, finalized in a London design studio and is being produced on the assembly line at the Sunderland plant.

Qashqai is the first Nissan to be fully digitally engineered. Of course, digital calculations were confirmed by real experiments, but the number of "live" tests has decreased significantly.

The marketers came up with a creative approach to the name of the car. It sounds strange only to the Russian ear, but also to the European. The name "Qashqai" is taken from the name of an ancient Iranian, nomadic tribe living in Iran to this day. By the way, naming a car in honor of nomadic tribes is not a new idea, the first in this was Volkswagen with the Tuareg SUV. In Japan, the model is sold under the Dualis name.

Qashqai received from the designers a long hood, a strongly sloping roofline, a massive bottom of the body, a protective body kit, an embossed window sill line and an impressive ground clearance of 20 cm.The front air intake and false radiator grille visually make the Qashqai wider. The large air intake lends a sporty accent, while the massive rear bumper evokes a sense of security and safety.

The salon is large enough, with a margin of space above the head and in the elbows, but without shocking. The designers tried to combine the atmosphere of a spacious family car and the mood of the pilot's cockpit, where the defining word is "control". This is how the division into a working area for the driver and a recreation area for passengers appeared. The instrument cluster is designed so that a plurality of function buttons are centered around the center of the steering wheel. Finishing materials are selected with taste and imagination. The black and chocolate front panel, the combined fabrics of the seats, the texture of leather and plastics - everything worked out not only visually, but also to the touch.

In Europe, the car is available with front and all-wheel drive, as well as with four engine options - two petrol (1.6 liters / 115 hp and 2.0 lira / 140 hp) and two diesel (1.5 liters / 106 hp and 2.0 TD / 150 hp). If the 1.6 engine is completed only with mechanics and front-wheel drive, then for 2.0, any combination of mono- and all-wheel drive, a mechanical box and a variator is possible.

The manufacturer offers a wide range of additional equipment. European versions are optionally equipped with a glass roof and built-in high-quality navigation. Qashqai comes in four trim levels: Visia, Acenta, Tekna and Tekna Pack.

Separate words are deserved by the fact that Qashqai won the maximum number of stars - five - in Euro NCAP tests in terms of protection of adult passengers. This is the highest score achieved by a tested vehicle in the entire history of the program. At the same time, the Qashqai received the highest points in both tests: in both frontal and side collisions, as well as the maximum number of points for the seat belt reminder system. The car also performed well - four stars - in child protection tests. In short, Qashqai is one of the safest vehicles on the road.

The world saw the new generation of the Qashqai model in early November 2013. In December, the car has already begun to be manufactured on the conveyors of the British plant. For Russian motorists, the crossover is assembled in St. Petersburg. Interestingly, the Japanese have abandoned the 7-seater version of the "+2" crossover. The motivation for this decision is simple: studies have confirmed that such cars were bought not for the sake of additional seats, but because of the increased volume of the trunk. So the second generation Qashqai is available exclusively with a 5-seater saloon.

The Japanese made the main bet in the new generation on appearance. The rustic exterior of the previous generation has given way to a strict modern look. The front optics merged in an aggressive smile with the radiator grille, the bumper received many curved lines and holes, the rear part was completely changed. The body is 47 mm longer, 20 mm wider and 15 mm lower than its predecessor.

Qashqai 2014 has an exclusive grille shutter. They curtain as the speed increases and regulate the air flow. When overheating, the automation is triggered and the curtains open, cooling the overheated parts.

The salon has noticeably changed: modern design, restrained classic colors, high-quality finishing materials. A lot of work has been done by engineers to improve ergonomics. The buttons and switches are conveniently located, the readings of the instrument panel are perfectly readable. Even the little things that are not noticeable at first glance have been worked out. For example, the designers took care of such a parameter as the depth of the cup holders - now you can put a half-liter bottle in them so that it does not interfere with the driver's elbow. When designing the seats, the engineers used aerospace engineering to provide a comfortable fit and improve blood flow in the lower back. The layout of the rear has been significantly changed, as a result of which there is more space on the rear sofa in all directions, and the capacity of the cargo compartment has increased by 20 liters.

The infotainment screen has moved from the top to the front of the center console and received many more functions. The multimedia system now not only plays music from different media and shows a navigation map, but also works with online applications. So far, Nissan Connect only has a Facebook client, Google search and Trip Advisor. But company representatives promise that the number of programs available will continue to grow.

The electric power steering received two modes - traditional and sporty, when increased driver work is required. Numerous electronic systems deserve special attention: automatic valet parking, lane crossing control systems, blind spot monitoring, all-round cameras, etc.

As a base unit, the Qashqai 2014 is equipped with a 1.2-liter DIG-T gasoline turbo four with 115 horsepower. The undoubted advantage of this engine is its low fuel consumption: according to the manufacturer, in the combined cycle the appetite of this engine is only 5.6 liters per “hundred”. For fans of dynamic driving, the engine lineup includes a 2-liter petrol unit with a capacity of 141 horsepower. But only one diesel engine is offered - a 1.6-liter 130-horsepower.

An innovation in Qashqai 2014 is a system for removing body vibrations, thanks to which the car monitors the condition of the road surface, its waves. Sensing them, the electronics regulates the engine and brakes automatically.

In top-end configurations and for a surcharge, the car is equipped with a video review system. Electronics also monitors blind spots in order to prevent unexpected collisions. And modern LED headlights automatically switch to the right light.

The second generation Nissan Qashqai turned out to be more complete, stylish and high quality.



The crossover (body J11) is offered on the Russian market with three power plants: a turbocharged gasoline engine 1.2 DIG-T (115 hp, 190 Nm), a gasoline "aspirated" 2.0 (144 hp, 200 Nm) and a 1.6 turbodiesel dCi (130 HP, 320 Nm). Two of these three units are also fitted under the hood of our range partner -. The 1.2 DIG-T petrol "turbo four" was previously installed mainly on Renault passenger cars, and Qashqai became almost the first of the crossovers to have this small, but very nimble engine at its disposal. It is aggregated with a 6-speed manual transmission or an Xtronic variator. These same two types of transmissions are available for the 2.0-liter engine. The diesel version of the Nissan Qashqai is equipped with a CVT only.

The use of a modular CMF platform with a high content of high-strength steels as a base made it possible to obtain a lightweight body resting on a front independent suspension with MacPherson struts and a rear multi-link structure. Both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations are available. Only the Nissan Qashqai 2.0 modification is equipped with a plug-in all-wheel drive system with an interaxle electromagnetic clutch installed in front of the rear axle gearbox.

The average fuel consumption of a SUV with a 1.2 DIG-T turbo engine, according to the passport data, does not exceed 6.2 l / 100 km. A crossover with a 2.0-liter engine consumes a little more - about 6.9-7.7 liters, depending on the modification. Diesel Nissan Qashqai is highly fuel efficient, consuming about 4.9 liters of diesel fuel in the combined cycle.

Turbocharging allows 115 hp to be squeezed out of the small engine, which is available from 4500 rpm. The turbocharged 1.6 dCi diesel is based on its predecessor - 1.9 dCi (F9Q index). Up to 75% of the parts used in the new engine were developed from scratch. The design of the unit provides for the presence of direct injection with portioned fuel supply, a variable geometry turbocharger, an exhaust gas recirculation system, a variable displacement oil pump, a Start / Stop system. Peak torque of the 1.6 dCi 130 motor is 320 Nm (from 1750 rpm). The emission level of 129 g / km allows it to comply with the Euro 5 environmental standard.

The history of the creation of Nissan Qashqai

This car was built entirely from the ground up to fill the popular compact SUV market niche. The project was done at the British design center Nissan through digital modeling. The final look of the car was created by London designers, and this look, with minor modifications, we see today. The creators approached the name of the model creatively: the car was named in honor of the ancient tribe of nomads Qashqai, living in the territory of modern Iran to this day. Volkswagen was the first to use this idea, christening its SUV with the name Tuareg - the name of the tribe of the Indians of North America.
