The subtleties of connecting the "9th Starline. General programming of the starline a9 keyfob in an accessible language Possible location of the starline a9 alarm button

home / Traffic rules online

StarLine Twage system can be installed on vehicles with 12V battery voltage and negative pole on the body.

Place the central unit in a hidden place in the passenger compartment, preferably under the dashboard - in this case, the length of the connecting wires will be minimal. To prevent moisture from entering the unit, it is recommended to install it in such a way as to prevent water droplets from running down the wires inside the case. Fasten the unit to a flat surface using self-tapping screws or double-sided tape so that it does not move when vibrated.

Attach the transceiver module with antenna to the windshield the vehicle so that the distance from the antenna to the metal parts of the body is at least 5 cm. In this case, the maximum range of the remote controls is ensured. Also, during installation, it should be taken into account that the interior temperature meter is located in this module, therefore, the module should be placed as far as possible from heat sources and avoid exposure to sunlight. Otherwise, the temperature reading may differ from the actual interior temperature.

Attach the external engine temperature sensor to the engine housing under one of the M6 bolts on the engine, ensuring good contact with the engine housing. The location of the sensor will determine the correct engine temperature detection.

Fasten the shock sensor firmly in the passenger compartment, providing access to its adjustments.

Attach the LED indicator in a conspicuous place on dashboard.

Install the Valet service button and the anti-robbery mode button in hidden but accessible places for the user.

When installing pushbutton switches under the hood and in the trunk, check that they work correctly. With the hood or trunk closed, the gap between the contacts in the switch must be at least 3 mm. Incorrect setting of pushbutton switches is often the cause of false alarms.

Lay the wires as far as possible from sources of electrical interference - ignition coils, high-voltage wires etc. Pay attention to the fact that the wires do not come into contact with the moving parts of the vehicle structure - pedals, steering rods, etc.

Installation of wiring connections of the alarm system must be carried out with the vehicle battery disconnected.

Attention! If the vehicle is equipped with an air bag or has an encoded receiver, refer to the operating instructions for the vehicle or receiver when disconnecting the power.

Make all permanent connections by soldering and insulate well.

Connect the central unit and other alarm components to the cable connectors only after completing the installation. Install the alarm in accordance with the connection diagram.

Selecting a method for monitoring engine operation (connecting a gray-black wire
alarm StarLine A9)

Engine operation control by tachometer

The gray-black wire is connected to the tachometer. Diagnostics of engine start-up is carried out by changing the frequency of the tachometer signal. The correctness of the connection of the black-and-gray wire to the tachometer can be judged by the duration of the starter operation after the starter is turned off during the engine start and receiving confirmation of the start on the alarm key fob.

At correct connection the black and gray wire, the starter must be switched off simultaneously with the start of engine operation, regardless of the programmed cranking duration of the starter.

Engine monitoring by generator

The gray-black wire connects to the generator output, which is connected to the dashboard lamp. A successful engine start will be monitored by the presence of a positive + 12V voltage at the generator output when the engine is running. With the correct connection of the black and gray wire, the starter should be turned off simultaneously with the start of engine operation, regardless of the programmed cranking duration of the starter.

Attention! When connecting the gray-black wire to the generator output, use a 510 kOhm… 680 kOhm damping resistor.

Monitoring of engine operation by voltage of the on-board network

If it is difficult to detect the tachometer or generator circuits, it is allowed to use the engine start control mode by the voltage of the on-board network. In this case, the gray-black wire is not connected and must be insulated. Start confirmation will occur automatically after the engine starts running. The disadvantage of this control method is the fixed operating time of the starter. For correct operation of the starter without linking, you will need to select the required duration by programming function No. 3 for values of 800, 1200, 1800 or 3000 ms.

Connecting the built-in engine blocking circuit

Break the chain between the ignition switch and the starter motor. In the open circuit, connect the black and white wire of the 6-pin connector on the side of the ignition switch and the black and yellow wire of the 6-pin connector on the side of the starter. The maximum current of the built-in blocking relay is 40A.

Connecting an external engine blocking circuit using conventional relays

Break one of the standard engine starting circuits and connect an additional relay to the open circuit. The type of blocking relay contacts NO (normally open) or NC (normally closed) is programmable (function 15). Initially at the factory NC type of relay contacts is programmed. An example of a connection diagram for one of the circuits is shown in the figure.

Connecting an external engine blocking circuit using a universal StarLine wireless blocking kit

This method of blocking the engine significantly increases the anti-theft properties of the alarm. To control the module included in the StarLine universal wireless blocking kit, use the black-and-white signaling wire, having previously programmed it for the normally open (NO) type of contacts. Possible engine blocking schemes are given in the installation instructions for the StarLine universal wireless blocking kit.

Connection to trunk release solenoid

The alarm has an output for remote unlocking of the trunk (yellow-black wire). The maximum output load is 300mA, when connecting it is necessary to use an additional relay. An example of a connection diagram is shown in the figure.

Connection to salon lighting

Additional signaling channel 2 can be used to connect to the low beam headlights and implement the "light path" function (yellow-red wire). The maximum load of the output is 300 mA, when connecting it is necessary to use an additional relay. An example of a connection diagram is shown in the figure.

Connecting the orange-purple wire on vehicles with manual and automatic gearboxes

On vehicles with a manual transmission, connect this wire to the parking brake pushbutton switch that closes to the body when the brake is applied.

On cars with automatic transmission connect this wire to the brake pedal button, which closes to + 12V when the brake pedal is depressed.

The alarm has an output that can be used to connect to the interior lighting and implement the "polite interior lighting" function (blue wire). The maximum output load is 300mA, when connecting it is necessary to use an additional relay. An example of a connection diagram is shown in the figure.

How to protect your car from theft? Today, this question worries every motorist, and therefore the range of security systems offered to help him is constantly expanding. What to bet on? On attractive characteristics or budget cost? The Starline A9 alarm saves the owner of the car from making a decision (it successfully combines both the first and the second).

100% protection

The car security system of this model is rightfully considered one of the best. And there is a reason for that: a high degree of protection. This enviable security is due to two points:

  1. Complex original encryption principle... It is he who is at the heart of dynamic code that is reliably protected from interception. Breaking an individual code is almost impossible (but the manufacturer decided to play it safe and enhance the effect with a non-standard solution).
  2. An extraordinary innovative approach... In this model of car alarms, the zoning principle has also been successfully applied. Each separate area is guarded (internal combustion engine, parking brake, hood, doors, trunk, windows, ignition lock). And a specific device (switch, sensor, relay) is responsible for this. All information about an attempt to break in or cause harm is displayed on the alarm key fob. Alarms are triggered when any of the above zones are affected.

The flawless operation of protective functions is also due to the fact that the state of all elements of the system is constantly under control. Failure of one of them is diagnosed by the device itself in a matter of seconds (the car owner learns about the existing problem immediately after their detection). This option (self-diagnosis) completely eliminates any risks (provided that the motorist takes the necessary measures to eliminate them in a timely manner).

Luxury comfort

Another advantage alarm starline a9 lies in its ability to combine business with pleasure. It is replete with options that make life much easier for the owner of the car, and significantly increase the degree of his comfort during operation. vehicle... Such noteworthy functions of this model of the security system include:

  1. Autostart. Starts the engine at a certain time (setting can be done in three directions: depending on the temperature mode, the standby timer, the alarm clock)
  2. Anti-robbery mode... It works when, after opening the driver's door, confirmation of the owner's indication code is not received, after a predetermined number of meters, the system blocks the engine.
  3. Immobilizer mode... Relevant for those who forget to step by step press the buttons on the key fob, it is activated after 30 seconds of inactivity from the driver's side (it blocks the engine half a minute after the ignition is turned off).
  4. Gsm module starline. Allows you to control the alarm from your mobile device, and also receive messages about the state of the system on it.
  5. Indication. The alarm key fob can replace both the clock, and the alarm clock, and the timer, it will also inform about the engine operating time (such information may also be needed by the motorist).

These are not all the features of this model, the table contains only the most demanded of them.

Energy efficiency also captivates. Situations when the key fob does not respond to the commands of its owner are most often associated with the wear and tear of its batteries, in the star line a9 control panel the batteries last for at least 2 months (more often up to six months).

Installation without problems

Car alarms of this make and model are also good in that they can be installed independently. This process can be described as complex and simple at the same time. The difficulty lies in the fact that it involves a large amount of work that must be performed in accordance with a strict algorithm of actions, including:

  • location and fixation of system elements(recommendations: it is advisable to fix the central unit under the dashboard, the transceiver module on the windshield, the shock sensor anywhere in the cabin, the LED indicator near the instruments, the external temperature sensor on the motor housing, the siren in the engine compartment with a horn downward away from the hot parts of the internal combustion engine);
  • connection diagrams(laying of wires, installing electrical wiring connections, connecting a circuit responsible for the operation of sound and lighting equipment, systems with auto start, a door activator, a locking system, blocking an internal combustion engine, monitoring engine operation according to one of the options: tachometer, voltage of the on-board network, generator).

The ease of installation of Starline A9 is that the instruction manual included in the package of each sold product of this type, gives a clear detailed view of everything related to its installation. It also contains a description of the reasons that can lead to an incorrect unstable work installed security system (errors made during the installation process).

Effortless customization

Without exception, all car owners with an alarm system of this model are interested in two important questions: how to bind the key fob to the system and how to configure desired parameters for each of the modes offered by the manufacturer. To help the car enthusiast detailed instructions concerning the points of interest to him:

  1. Keychain binding. We act step by step:
    • start the car;
    • press the button "Valet"(hold it until 4 sound signals appear);
    • press buttons 1 and 2 at the same time, release after 1 beep (for programming a key fob with an LCD display - the main control panel);
    • simultaneously press buttons 3 and 4(relevant for recording additional remote controls).
  2. Parameter programming... We follow the following algorithm of actions:
    • press the service button 6 times with the ignition on(we are waiting for the system response: 6 LED flashes + 6 sound signals);
    • press the "Valet" button several times(before entering a certain function);
    • select the desired value, confirm the action with either a short or long press on buttons 1 and 2 (half a second or 30 seconds);
    • we return to the "start" by pressing the service button;
    • repeat steps for all functions requiring special settings different from the factory parameters;
    • exit programming mode(turn off and turn on the ignition again or wait for the automatic shutdown, accompanied by 5 flashes of the side lights).

Alarm installation Starline A9

Now a high-quality installation of Starline car alarms is guaranteed by official dealers... They will definitely do everything competently, perform all the necessary settings, and, if necessary, give comprehensive consultations, answer questions regarding the operation of the system.

Of course, you can set an alarm in the service. But questions often arise there. Then the car enthusiasts have to come back and ask to finish the work. There is another option - to independently install the alarm on Personal car... It is not so difficult if there is a step-by-step instruction, as well as special Starline installation maps.

Self-installation: step by step instructions

Let's take a closer look at the alarm setting algorithm.

  1. The base module is installed first. Its place is on the dashboard, in the recess. It is important to make sure there are no water leaks. It is important to secure the block well with plastic ties or self-tapping screws so that it does not move due to vibration.
  2. Sensor engine compartment box-mounted or attached to the motor.
  3. Antenna with a temperature sensor, with a block, is fixed on the windshield. In this case, the minimum distance from the body panel must be 50 mm.
  4. In the cabin, the shock sensor is rigidly attached. It must be in the access area to be configured.
  5. They put a siren under the hood. It must be protected from overheating, from getting wet. The siren is purchased separately. Model S.20.3 will do.
  6. It is necessary to take care of the reliable contact of the additional limit switches in order to avoid false alarms.
  7. The diode is installed on the dashboard, in plain sight.
  8. An additional button for activating the system when attempting to robbery, theft, as well as the Valet button are placed hidden, but within the access zone for the owner.
  9. Interference can be caused by the ignition system. Therefore, all wires should be routed away from it.

Any twists in the wiring are necessarily well insulated.

Operation of the Starline A9 alarm system

For maximum convenience when using the system, it is advisable to always have both key fobs with you. They should not be exposed to moisture, do not drop or hit them. It is also important to change the batteries in time, because when the charge decreases, the key fobs begin to work worse, they have a shorter range.

Programming functions

When the system is already connected to the vehicle's on-board network, it is important to do the settings. Remember the step-by-step algorithm:

  1. The ignition is activated first. You must press the Valet key six times in a row.
  2. Then the ignition is turned off. The siren will sound six times, the dashboard diode will flash six times. This means that the system is already ready for programming.
  3. We select each function with the Valet key. The number of clicks is the function number. Each press will be confirmed by a diode and a siren.
  4. Within 10 seconds, you need to press keys 1 or 2 on the key fob.
  5. When one function is recorded, you can move to the next option by pressing the service key.
  6. If all options are written down, you need to exit the setup mode. You can wait. After a few seconds of inactivity, the system will end programming by itself. Five flashes of the alarm - exit confirmation.

When something goes wrong, you can reset the settings. Just hit Valet 10 times.

Keyfob key combinations

We have already covered most of the key combinations when studying the features of key fobs. But there are some combinations that are especially commonly used. Let's dwell on them.
