The brainchildren of the Togliatti Automobile Plant are still the most popular vehicles on secondary market Russia. They are chosen for a number of reasons, including: affordable cost, inexpensive repairs, good fitness to domestic off-road and unpretentious operation. Nevertheless, the choice of a used car is always associated with a certain risk of acquiring a problem car, both legally and technically. Autocode tells how to choose a VAZ car, and what to look for when buying.

How to choose a used VAZ car

First, let's talk about what you should pay attention to first.

Iron

It is no secret that the most expensive repairs are required for the car body. Therefore, first of all, we look at the state of iron. Read more on how to check the paintwork and body geometry of a used car. If you find signs that the car was repainted, or it has a broken body geometry, most likely the vehicle has been in a serious accident. It is better to refuse to choose such a car. Also, do not buy a vehicle with traces of corrosion. Cars of the VAZ family rust quickly enough. And it may take a lot of effort and money to slow down the "blooming" of body elements.

Internal filling

    • transmissions (extraneous noise when shifting gears, as well as difficulties with shifting them indicate problems with the gearbox, the replacement of which (especially if it is an automatic) will cost several tens of thousands of rubles);
    • suspension elements (rocking a car while driving is the first sign of problems);
    • engine (dark or bluish exhaust when the power unit is running indicates that the latter needs a major overhaul, which will also cost a pretty penny);
    • electrical equipment (problems with the electrics are found in used VAZs quite often, so if, when inspecting the car, you find an involuntary operation of the wipers or sound signal- be ready to replace the mounting block).

As they say, there are always two "fools" on the market - one sells, the other buys. In 99 cases out of 100, the owner is not going to tell you about all the faults in his used car. If you are not sure that you can independently identify the defects in the technical condition of the vehicle, it is reasonable to take a knowledgeable person with you. He will help make right choice and, if necessary, will report on those faults that you simply will not notice. If finances permit, one of the most rational options is to check a used car in a specialized service center. True, you will have to pay several thousand rubles for high-quality diagnostics.

You can order a field check on the Autocode website.

Which VAZ models are preferable

When choosing a used car, one of the main parameters is its cost. For used VAZ cars with a price tag of 40-50 thousand rubles. it's better not to pay attention at all. For that kind of money, in most cases, sellers offer a pile of scrap metal, which will require considerable financial investments and frequent repairs. Next, consider the more expensive options.

The budget is 60-70 thousand rubles.

In this price category, it is optimal to choose representatives of the classics - VAZ 2105, VAZ 2106 or VAZ 2107. It is advisable to buy a car no older than 2003-2004. These are reliable and time-tested cars that, with proper care and adherence to operating rules, will last for more than one year.

The budget is 80-90 thousand rubles.

Here, the undoubted leader is the VAZ 21099, released 10-12 years ago. It is better to choose a vehicle with an injector. Specialists do not recommend buying cars with a carburetor. If you decide to opt for this model - Special attention pay verification brake system... Make sure no oil or other fluids leak, and no rust on arches and sills. In addition, the interior heater is considered the weak point of the VAZ 21099, so make sure it works. Another problem inherent in these models is the strong rattling of parts. interior decoration salon, which, however, is observed in almost all old Zhiguli models.

The budget is 120-160 thousand rubles.

  • good value for money;
  • the level of technological equipment that is not inferior to many manufacturers;
  • high ground clearance, which provides high cross-country ability;
  • roomy salon;
  • decent anti-corrosion properties of the body.

If you decide to choose a used VAZ 2112, first of all, check the engine. Extraneous noise from under the hood will indicate problems with the hydraulic lifters. In addition, ask the seller what type of fuel was used for refueling. vehicle: gasoline of the 92nd mark does not have the best effect on the stability of the 16-valve power unit.

The VAZ 2114 does not differ much in design from the 9 series models, therefore it has the same problems as the VAZ 21099 (they were mentioned above).

Budget from 200 thousand rubles.

If you decide to choose a more expensive used car - pay attention to Priora or Granta. These models are distinguished by high safety indicators, increased cabin comfort, good noise insulation properties. Among the shortcomings, experts note the whimsicality to the quality of fuel (it is advisable to fill a car with a 95th grade of gasoline), oil and other consumables.

Residents of rural areas, as well as townspeople who are fond of outdoor activities, travel, hunting or fishing, experts recommend choosing Lada Largus or Niva. Models differ high traffic, roomy interior and ease of use.

Whichever VAZ model you choose, before making a purchase, check a used car using the all-Russian Internet service "Autocode". Enter in the search box on our website the state. number or VIN-code of the car. In a few minutes you will be able to familiarize yourself with detailed history vehicle. The report will contain information on the number of owners of a used car, the presence of encumbrances and restrictions on registration actions in the traffic police, information on fines, accidents and other useful data, on the basis of which you will draw conclusions about the reasonableness of purchasing a car.

I decided to speak out on this matter, because many of my readers and viewers ask me about it. The question is really not unambiguous and it is conceived before a person who changes a used one, as a rule old car(which is "ushatan" and sold) and now there is a HUGE choice - what to take a used (but a foreign car) or a new (but our domestic, as a rule) VAZ? We need to approach from several points of view, we will all consider them today, there will be a video and a vote below, so we read and watch ...

I'll start with the fact that recently the situation with Russian car industry slowly but surely changing, and as I think for the better. It started with BU Andersen, when he began to raise the quality of the brand. Moreover, no one even thought to abandon the old models, I'm now talking about PRIORA, KALINA, GRANTA, LADA 4X4, they just decided to tighten them up a bit, which I think was almost done. But also next to these models new "VESTA", "X-RAY", "LARGUS", LADA URBAN were developed.

However, in Russian minds there is a strong stereotype that everything that VAZ produces is bad, and even a little bit of a foreign car will not only be better, but MUCH BETTER! BUT is it just in modern realities, because we will take a new LADA, but a used foreigner.

About the price bar and age

"FOREIGN GUESTS" now have a whole cart, ranging from DATSUN (as I think "doped" GRANT), ending with top-end BMW, MERCEDES, AUDI. Therefore, we will classify them into two large subspecies, these are inexpensive in maximum trim levels up to 1 million rubles and expensive - over this amount (I'm talking about new cars now)

Moreover, we will choose a second-hand version, which means that it should not exceed 500,000, this is really the price of a modern, well-equipped AVTOVAZ.

I also want to talk about the age limit, yet 5 years is the maximum figure, in my opinion, if younger is better, because, say, many Koreans have a 5-year warranty and 150,000 mileage

Inexpensive used foreign car

This is the most practical deal if you have 400 - 500,000 rubles, then you can take an almost new one - LOGAN, SANDERO, SOLARIS, RIO, ALMERA, POLO. Or a little older FOCUS (second generation), MAZDA3, CRUZ, ASTRU, LANSER, COROLLU, etc. (there are really a lot of them).

That is, these are non-ALPHA cars of brands (such as BMW, AUDI, MERSEDES). This is class "B-C", they will not have complicated turbines, diesel engines, robotic boxes gear and other nonsense. Usually these are ordinary "aspirated" with volumes of 1.2 - 1.6 (rarely 1.8 - 2.0),.

AS I BELIEVE - if you take a used foreign car, then it is from this group. It is here, if this is not a "dead barn" (with a range of 250,000 km), you can drive happily ever after

And such cars as, say, LOGAN, SANDERO, DASTER, of the first generations generally run some "crazy" runs, without any serious investments (only "consumables"). Koreans, such as Solaris and RIO, are also very reliable and give any kind of comfort and have the greatest guarantee of all in our country.

If you take bigger cars, LANSER, KOROLLA, ASTRA, KRUZ, MAZDA3 - take it first-hand, and you should definitely look to test power units, transmissions, twisted runs, "hitting", etc. If you vparyat "killed" car, then you will invest your hard-earned money in it and a lot and EXPENSIVE.

REMEMBER - repair of foreign cars, especially class "C" (and higher) costs two, and maybe three times more than our domestic cars

Of course, at a relatively low price, at 400 - 500,000 rubles, you can find a good copy, with low mileage, winter tires and so on. Moreover, the quality of the interior, design, performance of technical units will be really on top. BUT SUCH MACHINES ARE FEW! And when buying, you should take a knowledgeable person with you.

You also need to be mentally prepared to invest in repairs. Still, the used option is a roulette wheel.

Expensive used foreign car

My opinion here is unequivocal - TO TAKE THIS, I DO NOT ADVISE YOU. FOR 400 - 500,000 rubles, it will already be a shaggy year (about 6 - 8 years old). These are exactly the ALPHA BRANDS about which I wrote above - AUDI, MERCEDES, BMW, if you take the Japanese CAMRI, ACCORD and so on.

Of course, there is a brand, and comfort, and prestige (albeit an old car, but still). And again, this is not LADA.

However, this option is almost 100% hit on the loot (with the Japanese less often). Of course, you may be lucky and you will take some MEPC which is 8 years old with a range of 30,000 km. BUT this randomness tends to zero.

How it happens in practice. A young guy who passed his license a couple of years ago and learned to drive more or less (and they buy such cars) buys, say, MERS W203 for 400,000 rubles (say, 2006). The mileage, as he was told, is 150,000 kilometers (yeah, for 11 years that!) And he is all so smartly laughing at his neighbors who bought themselves "VESTA", "X-RAY" and other miracle of our technology.

But his joy will not be long, because this car is already 11 years old and in the forehead something will happen to it. And repairs, even not with original spare parts, often go out of hand, the turbine alone will cost from 100,000 rubles, if you take the originals. And here all the comfort and beauty + prestige will fall below the plinth, and there will be such a miracle a guy who is all cool, ride a minibus (pay a loan for this shed and save money for repairs).

And the neighbors who bought new cars, but a lower class will drive and rejoice.

Pros of buying :

  • Kudos
  • Design
  • Quality
  • Reliability
  • Comfort
  • Equipment

Minuses :

  • Expensive renovation (especially if these are prestigious brands)
  • Turbines, robots and other delights, it is corny that there may not be specialists in your city
  • Large taxes
  • "Eats" a lot of fuel
  • Breaks often
  • Many years

In these points, I have collected both inexpensive and expensive options. Actually it is so

New, but domestic VAZ

I repeat once again - I am not protecting anyone! I myself had a lot of domestic cars of this particular brand, "I drank a lot with them" - BUT IT WAS BEFORE.

Let's think about how the situation with AVTOVAZ is developing now (I do not pretend to be a super analyst, this is just my opinion)

Now the controlling stake belongs to the corporation "RENAULT-NISSAN" the government has stopped pumping in billions (70 - 80) every year, do not understand why! Of course there is support, but it is much less.

The new administration dispersed a bunch of "bunglers" and "parasites", not all of them (many were still whining), but still. They made it clear - if you want to work, make high-quality "components" and we will work with you. The downside was that they began to buy a lot of spare parts abroad, but now the situation is changing in the opposite direction (since the sanctions are helping).

Prices have gone up, but cars have gotten better. Otherwise, if they are "crap-crap", simply no one will buy. We pulled up and modernly equipped the brands known to us, KALINS, PRIORS, GRANTS. Now they also have air conditioners (climate controls), heating (and windshield), navigation (with large monitors), and so on. Of course, the interior trim remained from budget materials, but now they do not rattle, do not rattle.

If you take X-PARADISE, LARGUS - then these are actually VERY reliable machines. They are based on the "B0" platform on which the same SANDERO, LOGAN, DASTER, TERRANO are built. THIS IS A VERY STRONG AND SIMPLE PLATFORM. I wanted it for a long time and without any obvious jambs.

VESTA is our development brought to mind. In reality, it can compete with such cars as SOLARIS, RIO, POLO, ALMERA, AVEO, etc. in its class it is not very bad.

Again, their own developments appear, this is a robot, a 1.8-liter engine. If there are no critical problems with the engine, then about the robot ... (there will be a separate article).

Well and again new car, no one drove it in front of you! The warranty is 3 years (or 100,000 km), now it really works. YES, and people have now become different, they know their rights more, and just go to court! In general, the "picture" is changing, now taking VAZ is POSSIBLE! Especially if this is a new generation of machines.

Again, 80% of all our "people's tuners" tune our cars, from "classics" to PRIORA. It seems to me that only our cars can be pumped so expensively.

Well and spare parts, they are everywhere and everywhere. You can find anything, and the prices are affordable. I remember seeing the guy's face when he found out how much it costs to repair the DSG, he said that for this money you can buy PRIORA and don't care!

Positive aspects of the new AVTOVAZ :

  • Cheap renovation
  • They are becoming more reliable now
  • Nobody drove before you, didn't kill
  • GUARANTEE
  • Acceptable price
  • PACKAGING, there is everything in modern cars
  • State support, soft loans and programs
  • Easy repair
  • Just for inexpensive tuning

Negative points :

  • it budget cars(not even class "C")
  • The quality of the trim and plastic of the interior (although in X-RAY and VESTA it is already more or less)
  • Not prestigious (this stereotype still lives in us)
  • Break down. It also happens (especially cars of the first generations)
  • Stand at the level of foreign cars. YES now the price tag is growing

All in all, this is a very practical purchase. If you need a car to travel (for work, in a taxi, to summer cottages, with children - there is a seven-seater LARGUS) then this is your choice. These cars are not for show-off, they are "hard workers".

In order not to waste time and effort, you need to determine as accurately as possible what, in fact, needs to be purchased and how much money is available for the purchase.

It is not worth splattering on the many offered "similar" options. If you need a sedan, then choose only a sedan. If you need mechanical box, in the search terms, put "only MCP". Ideally, of course, by the time the request is drawn up, you need to clearly understand what brand and model car is supposed to be purchased. We need Renault Logan, so we look at Renault Logan, not Clio Symbol, Sandero and Polo sedan to the heap. Keep in mind that even the most "wonderful" used car will require some expenses after the purchase.

Whatever one may say, but in the first month you will have to fork out at least for every little thing like new wipers, anthers, bushings, nuts, new tires, polishing, dry cleaning, and possibly something more serious. Therefore, it is better to postpone 10-15% of the amount planned for buying a car and not spend every last penny. Just in case, which, as practice shows, happens regularly with used cars.

2. Ditch the cheapest and most expensive options

The cost of a car is the most abstract value in an ad, since a person always wants to buy at a lower price and sell at a higher price. The price tag in most cases reflects not the real value of the car, but the desire of the seller. Therefore it is worth defining average cost of the proposed options and target ads whose range differs from it within 20%. Too cheap offers of a car with the same characteristics raise strong suspicions. And expensive ones in most cases demonstrate unjustified requirements.

3. Compare year and mileage

Car mileage is another very "slippery" parameter, which is difficult to be guided by. In general, almost everyone who is involved in buying and selling cars, from “private traders” to official dealers, is engaged in “twisting” the speedometer.

And yet, some conclusions can be drawn before you go to see the car. First of all, it is worth remembering that the mileage directly depends on the size of the city in which the car drove. So, in St. Petersburg and Moscow with their avenues, "ring" and trips to the dacha 100-200 km from the city average mileage can be from 20,000 to 40,000 km per year, or even more.

So if the car, for example, is five years old, then the mileage, most likely, has already exceeded one hundred thousand. Accordingly, when you see the announcement of a car produced in 2008-2009 with a mileage of 35,000 - 40,000 km, you should think about the authenticity of these data.

4. Analyze the vehicle popularity category

Exceptions, of course, are always and everywhere. Therefore, in addition to the mileage, it is worth paying attention to a specific brand and model, as well as its popularity among a particular group of drivers.

In particular, cars that are popular among the beautiful half of humanity can really have a very low mileage. But "ladies'" cars have another problem, namely, a lot of minor body damages. Even brand new cars are beaten, scratched, worn from all sides and, as a result, repainted several times.

Another example: Renault Logan, Chevrolet Lacetti, Hyundai Accent, Peugeot Partner Volkswagen Caddies, which are extremely popular among domestic taxi drivers, have a mileage that exceeds a hundred thousandth mark in a year. So, choosing one of the above models, the chance to run into just such a “driven” car increases dramatically. By the way, most of the Mercedes-Benz passenger cars imported from Germany with monstrous runs, "twisted" somewhere on the border, fall into the same category.

Do not neglect the hijackability ratings, which are more often than others. japanese cars... And in cars like the BMW X5, you can easily find not only problems with documents, but also holes of 7.62 caliber smeared in the back ...

What cars became the most popular last year, you will find out from our review.

5. Look carefully at the photos.

A person chooses primarily with his eyes, so almost two-thirds of information on a car can be obtained from the offered photographs. You need to be extremely careful about their presence, and most importantly - be able to consider what you need in them.

Ads without photos can be sorted immediately. It is not worth spending time even on calls on an abstract car: what kind of seller is this who has not bothered to present his own car? For the same reason, “to the trash can” we advise you to send ads with out-of-focus and muddy pictures and photographs taken at night, as well as with images where the car is represented only in parts.

Photos must be provided in sufficient quantity and quality to show rust spots, body damage, size of gaps, condition of paintwork and even traces of body repair.

For example, if the shade of the door color (hood, fender, bumper) differs sharply from the main color of the car, then this element has been repainted. And if so, then, it is likely, recovered after an accident.

From the pictures of the salon, you can determine how carefully and carefully the owner treated the car, as well as signs of participation in an accident. For example, if the pad on the steering wheel hub (under which the airbag is located) sparkles with novelty or differs in color from the steering wheel rim, most likely, the pillow has already been changed for some reason.

If you are looking to buy a used car, VAZ is the right option. Why? Most people agree with the opinion that the WHA is a bucket of bolts. No-a well-groomed car will carry you with comfort, and will not cause problems, there are enough and foreign cars who openly ask for repairs.

Of course, we will become the main criterion for your choice - the amount that you have to purchase your car. The state and model of the future acquisition will depend on it. Earlier models, such as the VAZ 2101, are slower than, for example, the VAZ 2108. But this is true for a factory car.

In the case of VAZ, many cars have been modified by their owner. Sometimes it is a complete collective farm and a "Gypsy - package". But there are also very well-groomed pennies, with upgraded engines, which will easily bypass the same figure eight. How to choose a used VAZ car so that it does not become a flour and an endless object of investment?

Pay attention to the car body. Externally, the car can be without dents and well painted. In order to make sure that the body is not broken, you need a magnet, it should not be too powerful - an ordinary magnet that you can hang on the refrigerator.

You should walk over the body with a magnet - if the car has a very thick layer of putty on it - the magnet will not stick to the body and will fall off - this will tell you about the painful place of the car being examined. As you know, the second most important element of a car is its engine. In order to find out whether the engine is working properly or not, you should start the engine and warm it up to operating temperature.

When the machine will run on Idling, pay attention to the oil pressure lamp, if it is on, there is reason to doubt the serviceability of the motor. Even if it does not burn (it may simply not work), it is better to unscrew the oil pressure sensor from the engine block and screw in the pressure gauge, then push the gas pedal. The device will show the pressure - 4e units of normal pressure. This means that the oil washes and lubricates the engine well.

Now you should unscrew the candles and see if there is oil on them. Sometimes the oil sludge is so strong that the candle, and therefore the cylinder, does not work! A working motor will not throw oil on the candles. Just while the candles are unscrewed, a compressor should be screwed into each cylinder and the pressure in the cylinders should be measured.

A serviceable engine will show 11-13 atmospheres. 8-9 atmospheres, the motor is alive, but this is no longer ideal. How to choose a used car in terms of model? The choice between the classics and the first Samaras for someone is fundamental. Someone likes the classics, and someone else the first front-wheel drive. By and large, not taking into account the type of body.

Samara differs from the classics in the type of drive and rack and pinion steering. The location of the engine, in terms of accessibility, is more convenient in the classic - the engine is located longitudinally Engine compartment any classic model has a large stock free space, which is very good for self-repair, and at the service station, this is also good, the cost of repairs will be lower.

If you recently got your license, then it is best to gain experience in a car that will not be a pity, even if it crashes. Very often novice drivers buy used domestic cars, some then do not even want to change them - they get used to it, make tuning, that is, they improve their "iron horses". However, even a supported car must be chosen correctly, otherwise it will not serve you for a year.

VAZ 2110 device

The VAZ 2110 model first appeared on sale in 1995, and among the people it received a variety of nicknames. So, she was called "pregnant antelope" and simply "bast shoes". However, this car is still successfully sold in the secondary market of cars.

The VAZ 2110 device, in general, is practically no different from the design of other VAZ models, in addition, more than one book was written about this model at one time. Thanks to this, almost any car enthusiast is able to make some changes to his "iron horse" on his own. It is also worth noting that in all cities it is quite easy to find the necessary spare parts for this model, which adds another plus to it.

Having decided to purchase this particular model, it is important to remember that the VAZ 2110 device is such that there is not enough view from the passenger compartment when moving back. Actually, most cars of this model have any scratches, and, as a rule, poor visibility is the reason for getting scratches. You will have to get used to and adapt to this.

It is also important to keep in mind that the car requires firm and clear orders on the pedals, but at first the legs usually do not get tired of such loads. Another weakness in the VAZ 2110 device - the clutch pedal travel.

Of course, when compared with foreign cars, the VAZ 2110 loses a lot, however, in general, for the first car this model suitable very well, especially since you can not regret it and use it, including as a means of transporting heavy loads, for example, furniture or building materials.

How to choose a VAZ 2110 car

So, you found an advertisement for the sale of a VAZ 2110 that interested you and went to a meeting with the seller, or just went to car market... How exactly to choose a VAZ 2101 car? What should you pay attention to? If you are well versed in the VAZ 2110 device, then most likely there will be no problems, however, very few novice motorists are able to boast of such knowledge. Of course, you can take a friend with you who is much better versed in cars, but there may not be such friends, or they simply will not have free time. We have compiled a small list of recommendations on what to look for when buying a used VAZ 2110.

First, you must decide on the exact amount that you are willing to spend on a car. Try to choose a car, the cost of which is about 20 percent lower of the amount allocated for the purchase - you will need the remaining money after buying a VAZ 2110. So, you will need to take out insurance and the purchase and sale itself, put the car on record, you may have to do some minor repairs ...

Secondly, do not take the first car you come across, even if you need a car urgently! The more time you spend looking for the car that best suits your needs, the more best car get it. Therefore, do not hesitate to search, ask the details you are interested in and, of course, compare the inspected cars!
