The well-organized instrument console resembles the contours of an elongated double cockpit, enhanced by pleasing blue lighting and useful details such as MP3 and iPod ports. The instruments are located in recesses and, due to the visors, create a strict and "sporty" impression, and the design of the gearbox lever mounted on the control panel is successfully combined with the look of the center and floor consoles. Orlando received a multifunctional steering wheel V-spoke design with acoustic and entertainment controls.

Orlando can have one of three engines under the hood. The petrol version with a volume of 1.8 liters, the power of 141 hp. A car equipped with this engine can reach speeds of up to 185 km / h. There are two diesel options: a 2-liter with 131 hp. and a 2-liter with 163 hp. Two gearboxes are provided for the motors - a mechanical five-speed and an automatic six-speed, with the ability to manually shift.

The Orlando is equipped with MacPherson strut front suspension and semi-independent rear suspension with a combined cross member. Thanks to the use of hydraulic supports in the front suspension, a high level of control over the behavior of the car and isolation of passengers from vibrations on any roads is provided.

Buyers have a choice of three configuration options (Base, LS and LT). The basic version of the Chevrolet Orlando will have a manual transmission, four airbags, a CD / MP3 audio system, heated seats (front only) and power accessories for side mirrors.

The safety characteristics are in fact high level... Six airbags (2 front, 2 side and 2 window "curtains") provide reliable protection passengers. High-strength steel, which is used in the manufacture of most of the body's structural structure, forms a kind of "protective ring" around the passengers, which minimizes the deformation of the passenger compartment in side and frontal collisions, as well as in the event of a rear impact. Orlando is also equipped with a system that automatically unlocks door locks in case of an accident.

In 2008, the American company General Motors at the Paris Motor Show public a new compact minivan Chevrolet Orlando. The car entered serial production in 2010. The Chevrolet Orlando is a five-door, seven-seater family car based on the Chevrolet Cruze model. The technical characteristics of these two machines are very similar. For example, the length of Orlando is only 120 mm longer than that of Cruz, despite the fact that they have the same ground clearance. But in appearance, based on the photo, these two models are very different.

Exterior and dimensions

Chevrolet Orlando, thanks to the work of designers, looks pretty interesting. Appearance quite similar to well-known crossovers and only a relatively small clearance gives out a minivan in it.

The photo shows that, like most Chevrolet models this car received a wide radiator grille, divided by a horizontal line, on which the brand name flaunts. The headlights are imposing, with black edging and a solid look. When looking at the car from the front, protrusions are clearly visible on the sides wheel arches, under which, depending on the configuration, wheels of different diameters can be located.

The roof of the car is not made high, so looking at the car from the side it can be seen that side windows relatively not large sizes and gradually taper towards the rear of the vehicle. From the wheel arches to the block rear lights, along the entire length of the body there is a belt line, which is clearly visible in the photo.

The designers did not come up with some new shape for the taillights, but simply took them from other models. A feature of Orlando is only the presence of a rear fog lamp, which is located in the middle of the rear bumper.

The vehicle is 4.652 m long, 1.836 m wide and 1.633 m high. The ground clearance, also known as the clearance, of the car, as already mentioned, is small and amounts to 0.165 m. So with such a clearance, you will not really ride off-road on this minivan.

Engines

The Chevrolet Orlando is driven by one of the 3 proposed engines. All of them are 4-cylinder, in-line and have a transverse arrangement. Of all these power units, only one is diesel, the other two are gasoline. Specifications gasoline engines various. One of them has a volume of 1.4 liters, but it is equipped with a turbocharger, which allows it to produce 140 hp. which are capable of accelerating the car to 193 km / h. Another gasoline power plant has 1.8 liters of displacement, but since it is not turbocharged, its power is 141 "horses", allowing you to pick up speed up to 195 km / h. These engines are powered by a multipoint injection system.

The most powerful of the line of engines installed in Orlando is the diesel. Its characteristics are as follows: 2.0 liters of working volume with the help of turbocharging develop 163 "horses", which make it possible to accelerate to 195 km / h. Fuel consumption of engines depends on installed box gear.

Transmission and chassis

The gear lever is located on the front console, which is quite convenient. Above the gear lever is an audio system and an on-board computer display. Depending on the configuration, either air conditioning or climate control is located there.

Depending on the filling of the car, the Chevrolet Orlando has three configurations: the simplest is designated LS, and the richest is LTZ. As an intermediate link between them is the LT grade. Although, if we compare cars with different trim levels in the photo, then outwardly the difference in them is only the wheels installed. The LS versions are equipped with stamped wheels with 215/60 R16 tires. The car with the LT designation already got alloy wheels with tires of the same size. Light-alloy wheels, but with the size 225/50 R17, are installed on the LTZ.

The steering wheel has leather lining, it houses the audio control keys, which is noticeable in the photo. To ensure the safety of the driver and passengers on the minivan, a whole range of systems is used that improve dynamic characteristics while driving. Like most modern cars, Chevrolet has an anti-lock braking system and a brake force distribution function, as well as a stability control system.

Prices for Chevrolet Orlando, despite their similar technical characteristics, differ due to the established additional options... The cheapest cars are of the LS configuration. The price of a Chevrolet with a 1.8 engine and manual transmission is 772,500 rubles. BUT installed engine 1.4 is slightly more expensive, its price is 782,000 rubles.

Prices for cars with the LT designation are slightly higher. So for the 1.8-liter LT with "mechanics" will have to pay 817,000 rubles. The price for the same car, but with an automatic transmission, is 857,000 rubles.
