Wheeled tractors of the "Belarus" brand are still used in our country, despite the fact that their production has long been discontinued. This circumstance speaks about high potential, incorporated in the design, its reliability and maintainability. The MTZ-50 wheeled tractor belongs to the category of universal agricultural machines of the ton. They are designed to perform a wide range of jobs:

  • Transportation of goods on trailers and semi-trailers.

The Minsk Tractor Plant was established by the decree of the government of the USSR No. 1142 in 1946 and two years later produced the first products. The development of the MTZ-50 "Belarus" model began in 1956 in parallel with the design of a diesel engine. Technical and technological documentation was prepared in the shortest possible time and was approved by the industry research institute.

The experimental workshop of the plant began the pre-series production of a new row-crop tractor in 1958, after which it entered state tests. Based on the results of the latter and taking into account the comments of the commission, the machine was finalized and on its basis an all-wheel drive version of the MTZ-52 was created.

Tractor MTZ-52. All-wheel drive version

In accordance with the decree of the Council of Ministers of 11/14/1959, the start of production of the basic tractor model was planned for 1961, and the modernized one for the next. By the end of the five-year plan, the enterprise was ordered to bring the total annual production of cars of both brands to 75 thousand units.

In 1960, development work was carried out to install a half-track drive on the MTZ-50. Tractors of this modification were supplied to agricultural enterprises and other organizations on separate orders. The use of rubber-metal tracks has significantly increased the traction characteristics and economic performance of the machine.

In 1963, the modernization of MTZ-50 "Belarus" was completed especially for cotton growing farms. The fundamental difference from serial model- a three-wheel scheme, suitable for operation on a four-row system. At the Minsk plant, this tractor was produced for 8 years until 1977, after which its production was deployed in Tashkent at a newly created plant.

In 1964, the first production version in an all-wheel drive version came off the MTZ assembly line. This machine quickly became popular among machine operators and was appreciated for its high cross-country ability. Based on the described model, three crawler tractor T-54V for work in vineyards. The modification was produced with a track of 950 mm and 850 mm. The tractor was produced until 1985 and a total of 1,256,800 copies were produced.

Technical characteristics of the MTZ-50 tractor

Wheeled row-crop tractor the MTZ-50 model is made according to the classical scheme, the basis of which is a semi-frame structure. The load-bearing frame consists of two channels connected in the front part by a cast bar. In addition to the semi-frame, the skeleton of the tractor is made up of the clutch, gearbox and rear axle housings.

In the front part of MTZ-50 "Belarus" a diesel engine is installed longitudinally, closed by an alligator-type hood that folds forward. Mechanisms are located directly behind the diesel engine power transmission and a rear axle, as well as a single-seat cab to accommodate the operator.

Engine

The tractor is equipped with a four-cylinder diesel engine manufactured by MTZ brand D-50 of two modifications: with an electric starter and D-50L with a gasoline starter. Main technical characteristics of the engine:

  • The crankshaft rotation speed is 1700 rpm.
  • The maximum torque is over 36 kgf.
  • The working volume of the engine is 4.75 liters.
  • Specific fuel consumption is not more than 195 g / e. l. with. h
  • The injection pump is a four-plunger type UTN-5 with an all-mode centrifugal regulator.
  • Injection pressure - 130 kgf / kgf / cm 2.
  • Engine weight without technical fluids: D-50 - 410 kg, D-50 L - 470 kg.
  • Working oil pressure 2.0 - 3.5 kgf / cm 2.

The power unit is equipped with a combined two-stage air cleaner. The cooling system is liquid with forced circulation of water or antifreeze, the radiator is located directly in front of the engine. Fan with permanent drive from the crankshaft through a belt drive.

Combined lubrication system: some parts are supplied with oil under pressure from a gear pump, the rest are sprayed. Oil purification is carried out in two stages using a mechanical and centrifugal filter.

The power supply system includes a fuel tank, a filter rough cleaning, fuel priming pump, injection pump, filter fine cleaning, vortex chambers and nozzles.

The engine is equipped with an hour meter, a valve for draining the coolant, a fan for forced blowing of the radiator, a thermostat, a water pump and a generator. Attachments provide work power unit and other tractor systems. So, the generator is driven by a belt from a pulley mounted on crankshaft... The device is designed to supply consumers with direct current.

Transmission

The torque from the engine to the drive wheels is transmitted through a chain consisting of the following mechanisms:

  • clutch;
  • coupling;
  • gear box;
  • rear axle.

The clutches and the connecting one are installed in one housing, which is connected to the power unit. The rear axle and gearbox have separate housings in the lower part of which there are housings for transmission oil.

The MTZ-50 tractor is equipped with mechanical box gear, which has 9 gears (including one direct) for moving forward and one - back. A gearbox is installed in the rear part of the gearbox, which doubles the tractor driving modes. Both mechanisms are controlled by one lever, while the gearbox is first switched on to an increased or decreased range.

The MTZ-50 tractor gearbox consists of the following parts:

  • housing with crankcase;
  • primary and secondary shaft;
  • front and rear carriage;
  • intermediate and inner shaft;
  • driving and driven gears;
  • gear shifting mechanism.

The torque from the engine through the couplings is fed to the input shaft of the gearbox, then through pairs of gears with different gear ratios it is converted and transmitted to the output shaft. The connection of pairs of gears, which are in constant engagement, occurs due to the movement of the carriages along the splines of the input shaft. Doubling the operating modes of the tractor is ensured by the use of a gearbox.

Chassis

The kinematic diagram of the MTZ-50 tractor is traditional for of this type machines and includes the following elements:

  • Final drive with a pair of constant mesh bevel gears. To reduce noise, gears with spiral teeth (41 and 12, respectively) are used, the gear ratio is 3.42.
  • The closed-type conical differential is installed in the rear axle housing and has 4 satellites. The device is equipped with a locking mechanism with two cam clutches, which is activated when the pedal is depressed. Deactivation occurs automatically when the leg is removed from the control body.
  • The final drives are installed in housings at the ends of the axle shafts and consist of two pairs of cylindrical gears (one for each side). The gear ratio is 5.308, the teeth are straight, the number is 69 and 13, respectively.

The driving rear wheels are mounted on hubs, the rotation of which is ensured through the use of roller bearings... In the MTZ-50 version of the tractor, drive only to the rear wheels, in the all-wheel drive modification it is provided transfer case... Power is transmitted to the front axle via a propeller shaft.

The tractor is controlled by the operator by acting on the steering wheel, pedals and levers. The start of movement, maneuvering and deceleration of the agricultural machine is carried out by the following systems:

  • Brakes. Disc, dry type, mounted on the final drive pinions. The drive is hydraulic, the operation is controlled by acting on the pedal.
  • Steering. The system consists of a steering wheel, a worm gear (worm gear with a gear ratio of 17.5), a hydraulic booster, longitudinal and transverse rods and levers.

To reduce the control forces on the steering wheel, the mechanism is equipped with a separate-aggregate hydraulic amplifier. The system provides for a gear pump of the NSh-10E brand, with a capacity of at least 14 l / min. The actuator is a double-acting cylinder with a piston stroke of 19.5 mm from the middle position. The operation of the hydraulic booster is controlled using a single-spool distributor, which is installed on the axis of the worm gear.

Overall weight indicators

Model MTZ-50 "Belarus" refers to medium-sized tractors, which makes it possible to use it in the premises of farms to perform various operations. Basic geometric and weight parameters of an agricultural machine:

The geometric dimensions of the tractor, combined with the optimal weight, provide excellent traction performance, maneuverability and maneuverability. The MTZ-50 "Belarus" tractor is controlled from the operator's workplace. The windshield of the tractor cab is equipped with a wiper, which is manually operated using a lever. To ensure a normal microclimate, a fan controlled by a separate switch is provided. Illumination of the workplace is carried out using a plafond installed on the ceiling. Modifications of the MTZ-50 tractor

Minsk Tractors Plant constantly improved its products and produced MTZ-50 in several versions. The modernization of the machine was carried out in two directions: improving performance and increasing cross-country ability. In total, in addition to the basic version, three modifications of the tractor were released:

  • MTZ-50L with D-50L diesel engine with electric starter.
  • MTZ-52... It was equipped with a D-50 power unit with all-wheel drive, for which a bridge and a transfer case were installed in place of the front beam.   • MTZ-52L is an all-wheel drive version and differs from the previous model by the presence of an electric starter in the engine starting system.

The MTZ 50 tractor is a general purpose wheeled tractor that was developed in the early sixties.

In 1961, the tractor passed field trials (test drive) and was put on the conveyor for mass production. Belarus 50 at MTZ (Minsk Tractor Plant) was produced from 1962 to 1985.

The long term of production of agricultural machinery was ensured by the technical characteristics of the MTZ 50 tractor laid down in the design.

During this time, more than 1 million 250 thousand copies of the MTZ 50 model were produced (52 modification with four-wheel drive).

The successful design possessed by the MTZ 50 tractor and quality engine allowed to create on its basis a large number of modifications for various agricultural work. Among them stand out:

  • MTZ 60, 62 - export versions of the tractor;
  • MTZ 50K - for work on steep slopes;
  • Т50В, Т54В - tracked models for work in vineyards;
  • MTZ 50X - modification with high ground clearance for working in cotton fields, produced with one front wheel;
  • MTZ 50R - had a half-track undercarriage and was used in the cultivation of rice fields.

The Minsk plant produces models based on similar characteristics and purpose.

During the production period, the appearance was repeatedly changed or the cab was tuned in a modern way, but the tractor did not change the indexing:

  • at the very beginning of the 60s, it had a semicircular radiator grill and a frameless base with a canvas roof;
  • at the end of the 60s, a rectangular radiator grill was installed;
  • in the mid-70s, the design and appearance of the hood was changed;
  • in the late 70s, the tractor received an oversized frame cab and a fiberglass roof.

Engine

A four-cylinder four-stroke diesel power unit of the D-50 model was installed on Belarus 50.

It has a volume of 4.75 liters and a piston split combustion chamber.
